Do you get high winds at your camp grounds? If not you might be able to make a back wall out of PVC's. You could then attach a canvas tarp with pull ties. You could make the bases permanent, glued together then add the up rights at the park. you could paint the canvas before hand and have it ready un minutes. You could do 3 sides or even 1 wall bent at angles. Really anything you want. It might work, anyways something to think about.

Oh, your hint is it has wheels.

WOW bethie! This looks so fun! I think you are VERY up to their level! I have seen your camp photos and you have some truly grand props! Thanks for sharing. I had never heard of it before. WHat a hoot! As for camping - I am dusting off our gear (yes - it is down in the basement. eeek!) and even put up a tent inside our family room - just to try it out! LOL Now the house is really a mess!! I think a huge yard/garage sale is in order - don't you?! BOO!

It seems like there were lots of offers from other members to help out, why don't you ask a couple people for help. You shouldn't have to do it all yourself. You did more than enough already.

I found something on E bay that I want to place a bid on for my haunt. I really need to get in gear soon. I can't seem to get motivated this year, so maybe this item will do the trick for me. We'll see .

That's a major bummer! We always had that problem at our campground too. Just 2 years ago they gave the winner 1st choice of all the sites and now it's the top 3 that get there choice.

That really makes it hard to plan. But not impossible.

Ok, so now you just concentrate on what you can do. I would build on the the scenes you can do without trees. You don't need trees for a cemetery, witches room or a lab.
Just make a plan without trees and then if you end up with some, even better.

You know, all the non camping haunters have no clue of all the challenges we have. It really does require a lot of adjustments and compromises. Give it some thought, you can make this work and really rock your haunt.

Don't let him get you down hon! My husband doesn't even like Halloween. But he loves to do things for me and so that's he got involved. He's a computer genius and now helps out alot. For the 1st couple years he didn't even help me unload or load up the motorhome. I did it all myself. I'm not mechanically inclined either just really motivated. When I want to do something I just do lots of research. Once I can wrap my mind around something I usually can figure out how to do it. And so can you.

We've had to deal with weather issues ever single year. And one year, our 2nd year setting up my husband got trapped at our site in a big forrest fire where 6 firefighter died. And we always get big winds and have to set up multiple times. Along with the rain. With all the electronics that's always a big concern. Last year I spent my whole vacation setting up and resetting up our haunt. I was so exhausted, I wanted to quit! I still haven't started a single prop yet.

We don't have blacklite floods just the LED's my husband made and a couple DMX. But your right they do use a lot less power. By the way we set up everything with only 2 plug outlets last year. We borrow one of our friends. Usually the power boxes at campsites have breakers inside so that you don't have to worry about blowing a fuse to the whole campground, just yours.

Maybe if you simply asked for his help from the begining he would be more involved. I found that men like to help us helpless females. So try asking his opinion more and see if maybe he takes an interest.

I hate it when your brain doesn't let you sleep. You simply have too much bouncing around in there. I found when I put it down on paper it really helps me to organize and sleep better!

So where are you thinking of putting blacklights? In your spider area maybe?

Hallow bethene! Thought you would like to know I scored a hospital IV stand!! Perfect for a Lab scene! $5.00 at our local St, Vincent de Paul thrift store. Hubby thinks I should just use it in the kitchen to hang beverage bags for party guests. LOL The basement is lurking...and I can't sleep lately. Sound familiar? Hey Beth! We used all blue and black lite (UV) floods, spots, and some DMX lights. My dh made some of the lights out of Malibu lights with some LED bulbs. At a cost of about $10. each those were good for the T/S sized props. He made me some smaller ones with PVC pipe and 5 LED's in each one. They were used for spot lighting smaller items and often needed more than one to do the job. The 100 watt floods I bought about 5 years ago are the kind you can find at hardware stores are uses for the outer edges to give the overall blue glow.

Last year we decided that what we were missing was the ability to change where we wanted our focus so we invested in DMX lighting. These weren't cheep but since it was our big expense last year we decided to try it. It really made a difference but you could do without the expense and go with floods and LED spots.

My first couple years I used all floods, in either 25 or 100 watts in different colors. It was very pretty but not the look I was going for. I found that sticking with all one cool color either green or blue and with the added glow of candle lights, lanterns, or pumpkins was a much better look that I was looking for. And finally happy with.

So I would try and decide what look you ultimately want then go from there, adding a little more each year. Since you have different scenes if you wanted different colors you could do that too.
