  2. Hey Pal..
    Good to hear from ya!
The poem's great isn't it? My daughter e-mailed it to me for Remembrance Sunday (our version of Vet's Day here in the UK). Doubt if I shall be so lucky...I'll probably not be welcome "Upstairs" or "Down below" and be destined to spend eternity haunting this forum!!

Thanks for the Christmas Wishes...If we don't catch up before, Wishing a very Happy Holiday to you and yours.

Take care Pal, and have a good 'un!

    Regards,

    Baron S.

  4. THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

    'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
    'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
    Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
    And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
    That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
    And sometimes, God, forgive me,
    I've wept unmanly tears.

    I know I don't deserve a place,
    Among the people here.
    They never wanted me around,
    Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
    It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
    As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

    'Step forward now, you soldier,
    You've borne your burdens well.
    Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'

    Regards,

    Baron S.
  5. Hiya Mate!
Just stopping by to say Hope you had a great Halloween!

    Take care,

    Baron S.
  6. Hiya mate.
Great to know that the business is doing well! I've just arrived home from a two week vacation in Mexico. Had a great time lurking around Mayan ruins in the middle of the jungle, fighting off squadrons of mosquitoes the size of F-16's and getting pretty much wrecked on Tequilla most nights. Met some great people from the States too!
Needless to say, I share your sympathies about the Lockerbie bomber. I had my head in my hands when I heard what they'd done..compassion my arse. The whole bloody lot of them want putting against a wall and shooting..It's a total insult and a kick in the balls for all the bereaved families.
Take good care, Pal and stay busy.

    Kind regards,

    Baron S.
  7. Hey Brother
Sorry for not replying sooner ...I have been very busy with my business (And that’s a good thing!)
The summer is slowly winding down...The kids are back to school (YEA!)
And Halloween is soon upon us.
I just got done with a good project out of town and now I'm back home doing local jobs.
Anyways hope this finds you doing well Mate, (As for the Scottish bastards that let that terrorist go, hope they rot in bloody hell as you would say)
    Cheers
  8. Hey Pal!
    Long time no speak....
    All cool your end?

    Baron S.
  9. Yep!...I'll drink to that!!
(Any excuse is a good excuse...)
