Yes, I did it just like I would have for paper mache but I wanted it up ASAP and have no patience for paper mache! I used modpodge(sp?) glue/sealer. Not sure if that was the best choice but other than the soft stem, it seems to be fine. I bring it in when it rains. This was my first project like this but I might make more next year.
I got a late start for Halloween this year. I was really thinking about Halloween at the beginning of the year, but then, somehow, I forgot all about Halloween projects until late September! Now I can't stay off this site and instead of making new projects, I just get more and more ideas that I can't possibly finish!
Wow! That sounds like quite the process! So it seems like you built the face up like you would with paper mache and then put the plaster tape over the top? You must have used a super sealer on this for it to last outside. What kind did you use? Have you tried this process with any other projects? The results are really cool and different!
That pumpkin you made for the scarecrow head is pretty cool! What is that made out of?
