are you planning a graveyard or something else? since a yard is basically a blank open space there's alot of different possibilities you could do. (graveyard, pumpkin patch, shack, outdoor scary dining area, pirate themed area, dead bodies everywhere, a happy friendly scene for kids, etc.). Try to find what kind of theme you want to go with first. I suggest looking at other people's photos by doing a search on www.google.com for related words such as "halloween yard".

and then after you search then click on the 'images' tab to see the images related to your search. It might give you some ideas or a preferred direction.

I checked your profile, Monchelle, and do not see any photos of your yard posted.
As for dead bodies, go to a thrift store like Goodwill to get some cheap clothes to bloody up or find clothes you don't want anymore and then stuff them with plastic bags or other stuff to fill out the clothes to make bodies. Then if you have masks use them for the heads. Or make headless people as if some crazy psycho killed the people and cut off their heads. Just put blood near the necks. maybe that spray styrofoam and then blood so it looks like their guts. =)

by the way, you might want to post your question in a different section of this site since this is for 'introductions'.

Welcome to the Forum!
Setting up your yard haunt can be a little tuff but once you get started the creative juices will just flow! I would plan out what you want to do first... cemetery theme, haunted house, cornfield, etc. and maybe a small sketch to see where this and that could go. If you don't have very many props this year, don't worry... spend a dollar or two on lighting FX. This can and will, make or break your yard haunt... just the dollar store basic props can look great at night time lit up with some colored CFL or LEDs (even colored spot lamps). Try to layer the colors (i.e. background, foreground and spot light your main props). You will be surprised how this will look!
Lots of great ideas here, enjoy!
