Hello everyone! First, let me thank ya'll for a terrific forum! Lots of great information here, particularly for the newbie haunter.
For years, my wife and I did nothing more than place out a couple of lighted pumpkins for Halloween. Our jobs simply kept us too busy. My wife stopped working several years ago and I finally retired early last year. So, for 2009, we decided to get a little more carried away. We found a nice big bat at Costco (marked down to $20) and I got some red "Danger" tape and some tall stakes at the hardware store. I also borrowed a projector from a friend and ordered Hallowindow (1 & 2). And that was pretty much going to be the extent of it for 2009. However, I made the "mistake" of walking into Party City at 9:00am on October 31, 2009 to get a couple of foam headstones. As I studied the remaining options, the store manager informed me that all Halloween stuff was 50% off (though signs hadn't been posted yet). Well, $100 later, I walked out of Party City with enough stuff to do this:

Needless to say, we were a VERY popular house in the neighborhood.
And, of course, it is now "required" that this year's decorations must top last year! And, frankly, I've gone crazy. I've purchased two used projectors on eBay. This year, I'm going to run Hallowindow in half of the garage door opening (8' x 7' projection). The other projector will be used for Grim Grinning Pumpkins. And I'm still borrowing my friend's projector to run an evil eye in one of the house windows.
We've also purchased a few more lighted pumpkins, 8 additional headstones, more skull fencing, a giant black widow spider, plus a few more odds and ends.
Still to come, I plan to make a fog chiller box, and I need to construct a platform/box to hide the projector for the singing pumpkins. Oh.... we also plan to buy extra candy. We went through 4 Costco-sized bags last year, plus 3 backup bags from the grocery store.
Frankly, it's become a bit of an addiction and all of the cool information in this forum isn't helping!
