Hi my name is Amy and I must admit I have lurked this website for about a year now. I have just recently started to post but have to thank all of the creative types that have inspired me and my Halloween obsession.
I am married to JT and we are celebrating our 20th year together. We have 2 lovely children Devan 18 and Elaina 9. We also cohabit with my sons girl Megan that just moved in with us, a trio of boxers, and 2 dueling felines. I have a small blog following that showcases my love of Halloween.
This year will be our 14th annual Halloween Party. It all began when my now 18 year old son was in grade school. We were the end of the road and everyone would gather after trick or treating. A nice bonfire in the yard and some kid friendly decorations. The adults would chat while the kids compared their candy loot and did their exchange.
About 10 years ago we moved and our party took a different turn. We now are a fully exclusive adult party. We completely transform the inside and outside of our home. Each year has a different theme. Every year our guests anxiously await the highly coveted invite and talk about the party after for months. Lifelong friendships have been forged and it is comical to hear friends talking saying things like... "remember you know Mike and Linda, they were Bonnie and Clyde at lasts years party"....
Last years theme was a witch theme, I spent almost an entire year collecting and making my own potion bottles clear down to the custom labels. I started decorating in May. This year things are a little more low key. My daughter has been diagnosed with Autism and I have spent a lot of time researching and advocating. Our theme is going to be "Creatures of the Night". So any input or suggestions are welcomed.
I look forward to getting to know you all a little better.

Welcome neighbor
Im on the border of Ohio in Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati. You started as I did when my son was in grade school. I've kinda hit that bump in the road as to what and how you go about halloween after your children are young adults. Mine being 16 and about to drive now. I hope to hear more from you. Sounds like you know how to throw some pretty awesome parties. Helps to have great friends. Well, good luck with your party planning and post some pics.
