First of all I hope I've done this right! Next, Hello all. I'm a newbie here. Been looking around the site the last month so thought it was time to sign in. I live in Scotland, and Halloween is becoming more popular at last. When I was a wee girl, my friends and I used to go around the houses guising (what we called trick or treating) with our neep lanterns (carved turnips, no exotic pumpkins for us over here back then) but over the years it died a death. However over the last few years, come Halloween, more and more kiddies come knocking at the door. After years of having Halloween parties for my kids and family, last year we bit the bullet and decided to have a fully fledged, adult party. No themes, just an invite, please come and dress up. Well, around 50 people came, all in costumes and game for it and loved it, and since then we keep getting asked are we doing it again this year. The answer is, of course, YES! Hence my snooping through all your posts for ideas! As I had a special birthday this year (life begins, or over the hill...you decide) I feel a farewell to the 80s may win out as a tip of my hat to my glory days as a rock chic supreme with the invitations covering everything from rock, pop and monsters from the decade. As you can see, I can yap for Scotland, so anyway, hello again, and I look forward to reading, and perhaps sharing ideas with you all x
