I just wanted to say "hi" and introduce myself *waves.* I've been lurking here for a little while and decided it was time to join up.

I absolutely love Halloween. My father and I started a yard haunt back in 1989. No one else was decorating in our neighborhood back then. We started with a coffin and two graves and by the time the haunt ended in '98, it had grown to be quite large, and had become a staple in the neighborhood. Unfortunately my dad and younger brothers tossed all of the graves to make room for their hot rods in the garage a few years ago. Eh, it was for a good cause...right? I did manage to keep a few props, as well as the original coffin and dummy we used the first year we haunted the yard.

Last year my husband (whose family coincidentally also have been haunting their yard for years) and I bought our first house. FINALLY a yard to haunt! We moved in the week of Halloween, so we didn't get to do anything last year. This year, I hope to make some graves, acquire some lighting and smoke machines, etc. and we'd like to have a Halloween costume party for friends. We'll start small on all fronts.

This site has been super helpful with finding music (I just about died when I found uploads of the old FX cassettes like Horror Sounds of the Night & Take a Trip Through the Haunted House on here...blast from my past!), and getting ideas for our party and the yard haunt.

Anyways, my name comes from a British television show called The Mighty Boosh. My pic is from one of the many Halloweens that I dressed like The Crow.
