Hi from Australia. Our family loves Halloween, especially me and my daughter. Australia doesn't celebrate it nearly as much as you guys, so it's quite hard to find good props and decorations etc.
I have noticed a couple of aussies on here, Hi, and joined to hopefully get some ideas.
We had our first "haunt" last year, and managed to scare half the neighborhood.
We had a few scarecrows stuffed with straw, and one real one (my son) who moved or stood up suddenly, to great suprise!
My young daughter was hiding under a cover as a "head on a platter" . The trick or treaters had to lift one cover to get treats from a platter, then lifted the second one to find a head loking at them. What made it more scary, was the fact my daughter had been receiving chemo for nearly 12 months, so she had no hair and a tube from her nose. A lot of parents were more scared than their children!
(my Daughter is now in remmision by the way)
This year we would like to do a full on haunt, so we've kept all stuff from last year and will be making/buying more during the year.
woops, didn't mean to ramble on so much, thanks for reading,
Rick.
