I've been reading here @ HF for several months- a couple of days ago I decided to finally take the plunge & join up. Taking another plunge today & introducing myself:

My name really is Marie. My sig other, daughter, next door neighbors, & myself have been doing a charity yard haunt/display for 5 years now to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Not many houses in our neighborhood do any Halloween decorating so we're really a draw for the TOTs & their folks- donations have been building over the years & last year we took in a little over 450 lbs. of canned goods, etc!

HF is such a great site to get cool ideas for haunts plus killer how-to info. Wonderful to read all the threads & view all your albums (esp. now that I have access to everything via membership)!

Greatly looking forward to being a member here in the run up to Halloween 2010!

Hi Marie and welcome! Glad you decided to join up, and yup, it's a great resource. I'd love to see some pics of your charity haunt. Sounds awesome and what a great cause!

Wow, a charity yard haunt is a great idea. I have some problems getting ToTs to come to my house (barely double digits) so that would be a great way to maybe get more traffic, along with helping people out.

It would also add some legitimacy to spending many hours on the yard...you know...for those who don't normally get the fascination with the whole yard haunt thing.
