Well - it has happened. I am getting sooo excited about Halloween that I can't sleep!! We host a HUGE Halloween party for my husband's work at our house and it is a big hit! Then we are the Halloween House for our neighborhood too - and I serve hot dogs and hot chocolate and apple cider. We have a haunted trail in the backyard and a fun grave yard set up in the font. This year - we are stocking up on Vampire wine! It is really good and I love to have a few bottles out on our "Black Cat Bar - a little set up I have in our family room. Each year we try to create something new for our haunted house. Our inspiration often comes from something we see that is WAAAY too expensive - so we try to envision how we can make our own and save $$$. This year - the big project is to build a hearse!! Yes - we have seen the one for sale (it sold last night ) on E-Bay - made by the Scarefactory. Very cool and yet a bit out of our reach. Sooo --- we are starting to find a few items that we have salvaged to design our own Halloween Hearse! I thought I would start a posting - maybe some photos if I can get it all together - and share the evolution of our hearse project. I thank Halloween Forum for the years of great links, ideas, even the companies that sponsor your site are great to visit for things we have purchased as well as to get ideas. Thanks to Halloween Forum, we are off and running with our 2009 Haunting Fun!! Boo!![]()

Awesome and hello to you. Excellent that your parties and neighborhood haunted Halloween House and party turn out so well. I'm thinking about trying the backyard haunt this year. It would be pretty cool!

Thanks! The hearse idea has been on the top of our list for several years. I was completely blown away by a set up inside a tourist shop in New Orleans near the Cafe du Monde. The carriage was the real deal and the store had dressed the setting up in style - complete with a skeleton coachman.
We live in Ohio - so we are fortunate to be near some antique/Amish/farm wagons, buckboards and carriages. Still - - all are too pricey. So this year - I thought perhaps - with a little help from Halloween Forum friends - and some general "never say die" attitude - I might be able to create a scaled down version that would suit our set up just fine. I will be taking some pics to follow the progress - with hopes that I can get some advice along the way. Stay tuned! BOO!

We just had a "Four Way" last night!! ooo
better be careful how I describe Cincinnati Skyline to the un-initiated!
My hubby and I get the urge at least once a week - and it's off to Skyline for some of that famous chili! They just opened a new Greaters near us too -so we are set when it comes to indulging in Cincinnati food! Thanks for saying Hallow - it really helps us newbies feel welcome! BOO!
