Hey all. Name is Jamie (male version). I was extremely big into Halloween years ago . Once we started having kids things slowed quite a bit. I am the proud father of 3 little girls (2, 4 and 6). It was hard to get back into this as they are afraid of their own shadows. Couple that with one of my other hobbies ... rebuidling a 1987 Camaro Iroc Z and time was extremely limited. On top of that, I used to decorate my garage and threw up a plexi wall to keep the local riff-raff out of my display. There were a lot of push button and motion sensored props. Had more and more people show up every year. One year, I parked the Camaro out front (after the paint job) and some little heathen got shaving cream on it. End of decorating the garage.
Fast forward to April of this year. I moved into a new house. Much bigger but no garage. That will not stop me from jumping back in. Plenty of room to build some enclosures and get to haunting again.
The house I moved into is my dad's old house (I built him a new one right next door). I helped him with a lot of his static creations. He gets a good deal of people every year. His crowd will now be taken to the next level as I introduce them to animated props.
The house is in the middle of Historic Richmond Town on Staten Island. So, for this year, I am planning a dead civil war soldier. He'll have the 3-axis head and a cannon. I'm hoping to have the cannon fire some fog and make a little noise. I'm actually thinking of placing a barrel in the line of sight and having a pirate duck into the barrel in fire of the cannon (using a reverse grave jumper). I have to find a place for my old FCG as well. This will be the start of a whole new era at this old haunt!
So, I just wanted to say Hi and formally thank the Captain for turning me on to this place. I'm addicted already. If I get all this stuff working I'll throw together a how to.
Wish me luck!

Welcome.
I just recently got back into Halloween myself after having twins. Kids kind of change your priorities, don't they. Plus we bought a foreclosure home and had a tone of work to do on it. But now it is back to haunting!!!
