Hi Bear! Very nice mask sculptures you have there. You do some cool work.

You mention Paul Blaisdell was a distant relative of yours? This is very fascinating to me. I am a big fan of his work--actually there are many people who admire his inventiveness. He did some wonderful things on very low budgets.

I worked in Texas for a short time on a film called "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and I really loved it.
    "WHAT'S out there?"

"I don't know.......it was little and brown, and low to the ground!"

Bear, your slashed mask guy is so realistic it made my stomach flop. Great work. Your beautiful children provide an awesome contrast to the gruesome work!

Hey Tom, yeah Paul did some amazing work with so little. I've learned so much about him from Bob and have a better understanding of who he really was. He would have been a far distant cousin but I'm proud to have him in our tree non the less. Thanks for the props on my work, I don't think it's anything special but I really enjoy it when other people like my creations...it gives a purpose I suppose.

Wow, Gilbert Grape...wasn't that filmed in Austin? I remember a buddy of mine who did some artwork for the art department for a Depp film, I believe it was that one. I guess Disney was right, It's a small world after all!!

Yes, we filmed What's Eating Gilbert Grape in Austin, which was a wonderful experience from my perspective. The people in Austin were great to work with and the city is lots of fun. I was working intensely on Leonardo DiCaprio's prosthetic makeup, but I tried to get out for a few moments now and then to see the sights.

I just got hold of a DVD of "The Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow" which features Paul Blaisdell and his She Creature suit...it's a neat movie...and at one point I had some issues of the magazine he published with Bob Burns, "Fantastic Monsters of the Films." They sold 8mm films and slides showing the various Blaisdell monsters--I believe this was all special footage they created specifically to sell. I wonder if any of that stuff is still around...

HQ, I have Corey Feldman's limited edition album, "Love Left," it is signed by Corey himself. Extremely rare and I will sell it to you...for the right price. It will remind you of your paramour!

PS I am not serious about selling you this CD...I would never sell it. But I am serious about having it. I really do, it is here on the shelf!

Ha ha ha ha ha...Well, I'll tell ya, I totally stumbled onto Corey Feldman's album. It was in a thrift store a million miles away from anywhere--in Santa Anita, California. Just a weird place to find such a thing. I love finding weird things in thrift stores, as I'm sure many people here do. So I'm thumbing through the CDs, and here is this album...and it's signed! "Peace + Love, Corey Feldman" ....

"Holey Moley!" I thought, and I figured, "This has to be rare. I've never even heard of this before!" So I bought it, and it cost me two dollars. A bargain! It's displayed in a place of honor on my shelf.

On the cover is an illustration of Feldman with two tiny devil women sitting on his shoulders. One is smothering him with kisses. The other is ANGRY and preparing to stab him with a huge knife! How weird is that??

Not quite as weird as Cory Feldman having a place of honor on your shelf. (kidding of course)
