Hey all. I'm an old ghoul trying to create a new haunt, found this site and thought what a frightfully cool place. Ok enough of the puns. I'm 39, Love Halloween and finaly in a town where I can set up a display without fear of becoming part of the dismembered bodies in my display. My previous residence was in the heart of the ghetto in St. Louis so I didn't get to do much with out it getting vandelized or stolen. I think in the 5 years I lived there we had 2 trick-or-treaters total. Needless to say this year I started my display and had a great haunt (for a garage haunt only). I already have my workshop full of material to build my yard props and I'm considering installing a FCG this year if I can get the materials and mechanics just right. I lost 3 tombstones this year to rutting bucks but I figure thats the price I pay for making them out of styrofoam. Will just plan for the loss in my budget for next year.
I do have one thing that I don't know if any of you are interested in but... I was introduced to a C.A.D. program by google called "sketchup" it is great for laying out your yard haunts and even better for designing your floorplan if you do a haunted house. Check it out. Play with it and see what you can do.
Glad to be here and I hope to learn alot and share just as much.
