Hi all!
Newbie to the forum, but certainly not to the glorious holiday of Halloween! The big difference this year? I have a year lease on a house with a garage! (a shop! a shop! I finally have a workshop!). To all those who have always had oneI never have, and it's about time too. So I'm running a little late for anything spectacular this year, especially since my daughter kept pretty much all of our Halloween stuff when we finally parted ways a few months ago. So I'm starting from scratch, but next year should get pretty interesting.
So who am I and what are my qualifications?I'm a single (meaning I can play in my shop all night if I want to), middle-aged artist that also works for a national paint company (read: cheap paint!). I work in paint, texture, fabric, metal, wood, leather, foam, pvc, wax, play-doh, tapioca, and anything else I can get my hands on to (or in to). Some of my favorite things are faux finishes (aged and distressed leather and wood), treasure hunting yard sales, costuming, and pirate related stuff to add to my current collection. My next challenge will be to understand enough about electronic devices to accomplish what I want without getting zapped. Luckily, I'm not really into animatronics (at least not yet
) and I might possibly get back into welding at some point (it's been a very long time).
If only I had the income to do it all, right?
anyway, happy to be here to learn and to share....
Happy Halloween!
