Just found this forum while searching for pics of full sized pumpkin king props for comparison with the one I'm building. I love Decorating the yard for Halloween every year, although we live on a road that gets few Trick-Or-Treaters. Had 10 last year I think. lol. The decorations are mainly for the family to enjoy. Last years theme was a graveyard overrun with spiders (wife hated it lol) and this years theme is going to be a 7ft tall pumpkin king surrounded by pumpkins in the middle of a graveyard. Already started on the king using a 5 gal bucket filled with cement and a pvc pipe for a base, and a full size classroom skeleton I was lucky enough to purchase at a flea market about 10 years ago. Got the skull and legs off the torso, a pumpkin head attached and lit, and a robe draped so far. I'll stare at it for a few weeks and get more Ideas as to where to go from here once I move it to the front yard around the middle of October. I'm thinking I'll have a large tombstone leaned against the base along with some straw or something to help hide the base, lots of pumpkins all around it and or course the graveyard. Here is how the king looks so far....

The head is lit by a length of red rope light. I may do a different head if I can find a slightly larger pumpkin. I'll probably add some artificial vines as well to help add some realism. Plenty of time left to experiment.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Did a little more tweaking to the Pumpkin King today and moved it from the shed to the back porch to make room for other projects. Took a better daylight photo of it too...
