Hey everyone!
If you can't tell from my handle, my name is Kat and I am a crafter, costume designer and makeup artist. I am a totally nerd and I absolutely love anything to do with Halloween, Horror, Paranormal, Haunt things, Zombies, and Frankenstein. I have an aspiration to want to one day be known as the "Martha Stewart of all things Halloween, Haunt and Horror".

I am really excited to be here on this board (though I am still trying to figure it all out) and really excited to see what everyone has shared and share with everyone what knowledge I may have!

Other then Halloween and horror things I am a massive Hockey Fan (a rare breed around these parts). I have a huge love of British television such as Doctor Who, The Mighty Boosh, Merlin, The Vicar of Dibley, Gavin & Stacey and The IT Crowd. I work in the theatre and love it, (if only there was a full time job doing it! My real day job being a horror story of its own... and not in a good way). I love music, books and art. My favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling and Garrison Keillor. I am a Harry Potter fan. I am massively obsessed with Guillermo del Toro. I love Tim Burton as well. I love mixed media art, collaging and can pretty much do everything and anything in the crafting world. I am actually known for being able to make suits of armor (both historical and current such as for Call of Duty) out of things such as card board, paper and poster board. And sometimes I wish I was born in the 1950's.

So if all that hasn't scared you away, please feel free to say hello, I always want to make new friends! And I seriously am looking forward to getting to know all of you here!

Hi and welcome. You will find a lot of creative people here too. This is the place to be if you love all things Halloween.

What type of theater work do you do? Costuming? I used to do some costuming for the Tempe Historical Museum and also did some historical knitting and crochet work as well.

Right now I am working as the Costume Designer and Makeup Artist for The College of Mount St. Joseph here in Cincinnati. It's not a full time position sadly because the school won't fund for them to have an "Official" theatre department. It's really sad. The most recent show I did was Wizard of Oz, where I made all the mains costumes myself (including the Tin Man in a legit suit of Armor made out of Posterboard). However I love doing historical work!

What was it like working for the museum? I always thought that would be an amazingly fascinating job! I really enjoy knitting and crocheting as well, although my knitting skill needs to be greatly improved on. You wouldn't by chance happen to have a crochet pattern for skulls would you? lol
