Hi Guys (and Ghouls), I just joined up as I've been reading the forums over the last few days because I'm already starting to think about Haloween 2011 and how I'm going to decorate the house...
I'm Dan and I'm from the UK where we don't really make such a big fuss over Halloween as you guys do in the USA, but I love it! Last year was so much fun, as we kinda went all out (compared to the neighbours) and just threw loads of store-purchased decoration at the house, while I dressed as Freddy and made the kids jump when they came to the door.Thing is, the parents loved it and really appreciated the effort that we'd gone to so this year I'm planning to build my own props and decorations to really raise the bar.
Of course, in terms of merchandise I'm completely limited. It makes me so jealous when you guys can go and pick up a blucky for about $10 (or so I read) from your local party or halloween stores, we won't see skeletons anywhere until the end of September and I can guarantee they won't be lifesize!!
Anyway, I'm finding a lot of the tutorials and pictures that people post are inspirational so I'm sure I'll have some pics to post later in the year. In the meantime, here's a pic of my pumpkins from 2010:
The one on the right is just a templated one that I did for the kids, the one on the left had a huge soft/rotten patch that had to be cut out (the mouth), so I saved some of the seeds and used them as teeth. I was kinda proud of that one because it was all my own work (and I'm not particularly artistic)
In my spare time I co-run the website http://www.horrortalk.com which is a horror movie review website, so if you like those kinds of movies (and hey, why wouldn't you?) then feel free to take a look.
OK, I've written War and Peace as an introduction, sorry about that and Happy Halloween everyone.

Hello from the UK!

Thing is, the parents loved it and really appreciated the effort that we'd gone to so this year I'm planning to build my own props and decorations to really raise the bar.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
