Hi fine folk!
Looks like we'll be taking over the place soon.Just kiddin'. (Ducks for cova)
Have been browsing your site for a while now and thought I would join and possibly contribute if I can.
I live in Sydney Australia, as a child I never was taught of Halloween traditions despite my Celtic heritage.
Now that I am 27 I have tried to bring the delights and community building spirit of Halloween to my suburb.
I rent in a house with my girlfriend, fortunately not only does she approve she also enjoys my fanciful creations.
For the past 5 years I have been doing my house up, now in Australia you are lucky to see someone put anything related up as decorations for Halloween. Perhaps an orange balloon sometimes.
The first year I had 10 children and 5 adults, last year I had over 60 children and 40 parents turn up. Many of which had been told by their friends to come. I even had one little girl about 10 get her mom to drive her from an adjacent suburb to come see my house. They also turn up for several days after the event as friends have told them to go see if I have left my "web" up still.
Really has become my favorite time of the year, mainly because Halloween has some sort of stigma in AU as being a bad (I know stupid right!). When the parents see how happy their children are and what a social experience it is the opinions change quickly.
Thanks for listening to my short rant, I'll leave you with a couple of pics of my house on the first year of doing it up and a short write up/pics on cheap dirty homemade prosthetics I came up with. I know it is not much for the standards of what is shown here, but I can assure you for the past five years it has been getting bigger and badder.
Cheers from AU,
Mitch.

Thanks Crazy Xmas!
A commendable job "people greeting", boring though worthwhile as I already feel quite at home.
Thank you!
Now all I have to do is find the mod to schmooze, that can release my "Halloween Costume Ideas" thread and I'll be all set.
Don't worry, more than happy to wait.
