Howl-o fellow fright-o-philes! I'm a noob to the forum, but have loved Halloween, and scaring the bejeezus out of people for as long as I can remember. I found the forum entirely by accident this past weekend and have been sneaking a peek whenever I get a chance. The first haunts I worked on were staged in the un-developed, wooded area behind our newly-built subdivision when I was about 10-14 years old. Looking back on it now, it's impressive that a bunch of kids could clear a path through the woods and figure out placement of scenes and props that frightened both old and young alike. Since it was all new homes being built around us, there was no shortage of building materials to scavenge materials for things such as tombstones, bridges, coffins and even a working guillotine! I haunted my parents yard for years after that, but eventually moved into a series of apartments and fell prey to the dreaded "lack of space!!!" that can vastly hamper one's creativity. Even now, owning a home with a big yard I run into the issue of living on a main road that never sees any trick-or-treaters(including my son and daughter) We did the TOT thing this year in my parents neighborhood and they've already been forewarned that since it looks like that'll be happening every year, that they'd better be ready for a return in form as the "scariest house in the neighborhood" since it'd be pointless for me to haunt my house and it's apparent lack of TOT's. Sorry to be so long-winded, but Halloween just EXCITES me! Here's to a great time on the forum!
