I had an idea. Why don't we write our own Halloween story! I will start it off
and everybody add to it and we'll see what we can come up with. Here goes!

It was mid-October, and already the brightly colored leaves of the
autumn season were filling the skies, as a stiff breeze ripped them from
the sanctuary of their trees. There was a strong chill in the air the day
it all began, perhaps it was a warning, a foreshadow of events that
would shatter a world, and forever change the future of mankind!
I never get MAD, I get EVEN! Pray I only get MAD!

Mel shivered and pulled her coat sleeves down over her hands
while she briskly crossed the street. She was reliving the days
events as she passed all the storefronts showcasing their autumn
displays. Large jack-lanterns with toothy grins lit up the drug store
window while animated spiders danced across the front of the barber
shop. Mr. Gramsley, the grocer, was fighting with the strings of a
large ghost in his store. He tripped off the step ladder just as Mel
passed by and she couldn’t help but chuckle. ‘Oh no, I’m late again’
she thought glancing up at the old clock hanging outside the bank.
"Not everything is strippers and booze and buckets of blood. Why do you guys have buckets of blood?"

It was then she noticed a man leaning against a lampost outside the bank. He was a tall,
gaunt man with raven-black hair, and dressed in a suit that looked like it was straight out
of the eighteen hundreds. But there was something in his eyes that chilled her to the bone.
Something cold, unspeakably evil, and it made her feel, what was the phrase she was
looking for......like somebody had just stepped on her grave!
"It's later than you think, Miss Davis." He said as she started into the bank.
She froze in mid-step! "H-How did he know my name?" she thought. She quickly wheeled
around to confront the stranger, but he was gone! She noticed a slight odor in the air that
seemed strongest where the stranger had stood. It took a minute or two to realize what it
    was.....
    Brimstone!

    STEVEN GROSS

"Good Morning Mel." Steven Gross, the bank's junior manager and son to the founder,
was always being nice. Even though it had been some time since she earned her promotion,
Mr. Gross continued with his drippy compliments and stale salutations in response for being
looked-over for the position himself. Even though He was the one responsible for agreeing t
o more bad mortgage loans than any other broker, and had cut the bank's profits by almost
20%, he felt that after 15 years at the bank, he should have gotten the new position
created specifically to manage bad debt instead of Mel. Mel had heard that Gross was
    complaining behind her back.

"Hi Steeeven." She had come to hate that name. It fit quite well to man who was anything
but clean cut and crisp. Greasy hair and retro business suits that came complete with some
food attached to it or soaked into it somewhere best described his normal appearance.
Now that she had something against Gross, she was more than happy to send snippets
of disgust his way via third party gossipeers. "Did you spill some coffee this morning??" She
enjoyed noting this mornings' brown blotch of something sitting squarely on his tie and shirt.
As he walked, the tie would swing and the stain would match up with its partner on the shirt
creating a moving piece of art that would swap places as they danced side to side.

"Yes, it seems I did." "I was so busy this morning." Steven Gross's words hung on as long as
they could. Mel didn't even hear them. She just continued to her new office without waiting
for a reply. "I was busy this morning." fell silently to nowhere.

    HALLOWEEN PLANS

Steven Gross was determined to get rid of Mel Davis forever. He had been working on the
best way to accomplish this goal ever since she had received her new promotion over him.
Her promotion was his. With his new friend Mr. Corvaise, an idea was hatched into a plan
to get rid of Mel Davis forever, and it was set in action this very morning.
