1st

I was about 8 or 9. I decided to do the ever so popular at that age of trying to stay up all night. Well..... As I was laying in bed I noticed a shadow of someone standing in my room. This shadow was big, nearly reaching the ceiling, and moving slowly towards me against the wall. The fear was that I saw the shadow but no person, I was paralyzed and could do nothing but lay there in absolute terror. The shadow bent over me and bit me in the chest, I felt it, I screamed, my parents, brother and sister all ran into my room, I told them what happened and of course got the "your having a bad dream" answer. I showed them the mark on my chest where I was bit. The answer I got for the "mouth" shaped marking was that I scratched my self with my fingers nails. Maybe I did. But it felt to real to be a dream. about 2-3 weeks later my older brother starts in with the "it was the boogeyman". It was him, I know it was...........he's real.

2nd

I was about 11 or 12 when this happened. The house I grew up in (same one above) was bought new by my parents, bought it when it was a foundation and we were the first to live in it and did so for 14 years. I was in my room one morning before school and was just starting to wake up and was facing the wall when I felt a depression on the corner of the bed as if someone sat down on it. I remember a womans voice as she was stroking my hair saying "Its going to be allright" just as she said that in a split instant the weight was gone and my mom is yelling as she burst into the room (door was open) saying she saw something go into my closet as she was coming upstairs. Her and I were the only ones home at the time.


3rd (years later and married)

The first apartment we lived in. All were upstairs/downstairs apartments. My daughter kept having nightmares about the "little gray men that came out of a door in her closet and would walk around her bed at night. We passed it off as that, bad dreams, UNTIL we met the new neighbors next door to us at the bbq area and they were telling us since moving there that their son is having bad dreams about the "little gray men coming out of a door in his closet and walking around his room at night" Neither their son nor my daughter had met yet. They were just are freaked as we were when we told them of our daughters nightmares. They showed us the closet, it backed my daughters....Seperately we had them draw these "little gray men" they both looked VERY similiar and looked like a gray version of the little dudes in the star wars movie (the very first one). Neither had seen that movie either.

4th and last (I hope)

A couple years later in the townhouse we were renting before moving into our first house. I kept catching in the corner of my eye an old man in a gray suit would look in that direction and of course nothings there. Never more than that, just a glimpse. A couple days before moving out I asked my wife and daughter if they ever saw anything or a glimpse of anything. Both at nearly the exact same moment mentioned the old man in the gray suit. So, that night as we are all on the couch watching tv I have a 3/4 glass full of water on our coffee table that glides nearly 10 inches across the table as if someone slid it. I think it was his way of showing us all he really was there.

Are ghosts real - yep to me they are.

I wonder if Moon saw this one!

Hot Rod, Your first story is very similar to a childhood experience of mine.
I heard a slight metal clicking sound in the hallway outside of my bedroom.
There wasn't a door on my bedroom yet (remodeling), I looked out into the hall after climbing out of my bed and turning to face the doorway and the metal clicking were small, half-round brass drawer-pulls on the dresser in the hallway.
It was cold weather there were no open windows , yet those brass puls kept on clicking as something was making them move back and forth, the same sort of reaction if someone was walking passed them or brushing up against them as they would be walking passed them.
I am looking at an empty hallway, the sounds kept on, then I focused my eyes about a dozen feet to the end of the hallway (I am shining a flashlight) and the shadow of a man is made on the wall! The shadow didn't move and was rather unique. It seemed to be of a pirate with one leg (peg-legged pirate) with the tri-corner hat, ex cetra. (This is land-locked Illinois, ten miles from the Miss. River)
The pirate shadow came from clean, folded clothes stacked up on the dresser , still very strange?
What was making the brass drawer-pulls keep swinging like that making that noise??
I guess it was the pirate?
Those folded, stacked clothes just didn't look to be able to possibly create this shadow when I turned the flashlight off, as my Mother was now standing there with the hall light on. We tried it several times. The "Pirate" would seem to magically appear from my flashlight.

Hot Rod, that is some scarey stuff. My advice? Invest in a Ouija board, you may just be a "conduit".

I'm not a fan of Ouija boards anymore. A few years after my husband passed
away a friend of mine and I used to use one to try and contact my husband.
We were pretty successful too. She lived only 1/2 a mile from where he had been killed. It or he answered questions that only I knew and vise versa.
Anyway, years later his sister and I were playing with a different board and could never contact him. We kept getting someone saying their name was "death". Of course I thought she was making it say it and she thought I was. Well, it started to move in a figure eight so fast neither of us could keep our fingers on it. After playing with it for a few hours one night we put it up.
We were sitting on the couch and she had a glass of water in her hand -- it flew out of her hand and landed on the other side of the couch. It freaked us out pretty bad. We got rid of the Ouija Board and won't pick one up again. That is the only thing out of the ordinary that has happened to me.
That was enough.

My two sisters went through the Ouija board "phase" in their early teens. They could always get the cursor to move, but whenever their friend Debbie Riley came over, the thing would freak out, moving way fast, spelling out threats, correctly answering really private questions, that sort of thing. They could substitute other items for the cursor, it didn't matter what they used. The night they had a dining table LEVITATE and bang its legs on the floor was the last time they ever tried anything like that.

Wow we used to do the table thing toothats where it started we then moved onto the Ouija board (the cursor is called a planchet) then we started doing the whole seance thing we pretty much quit the whole thing whenthings started flying around the room no im not joking.... My buddy started using the board by himself one day i came over and walked by his dresserand he had a Colecovision (thats like a playstation for all you youngins out there )sitting stabley on his dresser and it flew at me. His bedroom was creepy to begin with an unfinished attic with a hand drawn penciled picture of Strahd from Ravenloft I
