This is a true story. When I was a little kid, we lived in an old historic house built in the early 1900's. It had very high ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. It had a long, dark hallway that lead to the bathroom that I was always scared of walking through by myself since there was no light in it. One Easter Sunday my mom and I had just come home from church and my dad was in the livingroom taking a nap. The house was completely silent no radios or tvs on. My mom was sitting on her bed reading a magazine and I was sitting in the floor playing with the toys I had gotten in my Easter basket that morning. Then me and my mom started hearing footsteps. We both stopped what we were doing and looked up at each other, listened for a couple of minutes and we both said okay what is that? My dad was sound asleep on the couch. It sounded just like someone wearing a pair of boots walking across the hardwood floor in my moms bedroom between her dresser and her bed. It continued pacing back and forth for a while. You could literally hear it walk across the floor and when it got to the wall, you could hear it turn around and walk back and turn around and walk back. We could hear it but couldn't see it. So we finally went in the livingroom and woke my dad up and said there is something in the house. He came in the bedroom and sat down on my moms bed and listened. He says I hear someone walking! So he goes outside to investigate. We did not have an attic or a basement so no one could have been above or below us. Our house was at the end of the street on the corner so we only had a neighbor on the left side of us and they weren't home. My dad did not believe in ghosts at all, but I could tell he was scared even though he would have never admitted it. The ghost paced across the bedroom floor for over 2 hours and right before it finally stopped we saw the mirror on my moms dresser shake like it had just been hit but we were all sitting on the bed very still no where near it. Needless to say, after that event, I had to sleep with my mom and dad for a while for fear of being alone in my own bedroom and my mom would have to walk me to the bathroom down the long, dark hallway because I was too scared. My dad would never admit we had a ghost in our house that day. He would tell people oh it was just squirrels. Squirrels don't wear boots and pace across floors! I was so relieved when we moved out of that house in 1985. To this day, when I tell people that story, they look at me like they don't believe me. I don't care, we all know we had a ghost in the house that day, even my dad the skeptic. Until you actually have an experience like that yourself, you don't know how terrifying it is, until you're actually faced with one. I love to visit real haunted houses, but I don't want to live in another one again!

That was the boogie man wasn't it?
As a matter of fact it was.

Hey, I believe you. My story is of a loved one. I took care of my grandmother 24/7 before she died. I would take her once a week to the doctor. (She had gone thru brain, breast and uterin cancer, plus had a heart condition). Our drives to and from the doctor always seemed to be the times when we really enjoyed ourselves. The day she died, I was out running errands and got back as the ambulance was pulling away. My mother was there, so I took her in my car to the hospital. I never got to say goodbye.

About a month after she died. I was driving along in my car, and I reached out and pat the passenger seat next to me. I could feel her beside me and I had this intensely happy feeling come over me. This happened a lot for about 2 months. I started talking to her whenever I felt her there. The last time that happened, I said "I love you Bigmama and I miss you." After that she stopped coming to visit me in my car...so I guess I finally got to say goodbye.
