Even though I am a Halloween entheusiast, and always seem to believe in other peoples stories, I have one myself, that is simple but again, sceptics will find something to say, as we all do, when we read other peoples stories.
A few years ago, I inherited a house. The house was owned by a powerful doctor, and had nothing but love, togetherness and understanding among the people that lived within it. Honestly, I can't understand that concept because today's life is full of confusion. Anyway, My uncle was a Doctor that liked to wear boots and Bermuda shorts. He was a wonderful man and a good friend. My grandmother wound up aquiring Altzheimers. For those that understand it, they know that it ruins a persons life, and it leaves those left behind second guessing themselves forever. It tears a person's mind apart and is scarier than ANY Halloween prop you could possibly find.
A couple of years before this incident, I had returned from work at approximatly 3 AM and traveled into the basement to use the restroom. I distinctly remember someone walking down the stairs. As I thought it was a loved one, I ran upstairs and found no one, everyone was sound asleep. A couple of years passed, and my grandmother was placed in a nursing home. This is when the disturbing stuff happened. As a Sony Playstation lover, I played Tomb Raider like it was going out of style. At one particular moment, 5:45 AM I heard some heavy footed steps upstairs, walking across the floor. I ran up, got a firearm and woke up the wife, telling her that there was definatly an intruder in the house. At that time, we had a newborn and she would NEVER let me come anywhere in the vicinity of the kid with a gun. I told her, get ready, we need to call 911 and all that jazz. I checked the whole house, and there was nothing. There is always someone out there that will question things, and say something opposite to what you try to express and I was just that person saying "it is everyone else that seems to experience the supernatural" but me. After this occasion, my wife tells me that she heard the same thing, but she thought it was me the "jokester" playing games with her. I said "trust me, it aint me" She proceeds to tell me that she heard conversations, voices, and footsteps many times, but didn't want to tell me. I said, hey...............I think its something I need to know.
Long story short, My grandmother died, and she was the most wonderful human being on the planet. Needless to say, everything stopped. 3 years later, not a peep. I think that my Uncle was becomming impatient. Even though the wierd things subsided, and at the time wished that it would go away, I would gladly invite it back again if you know what I mean. I learned that there are some things in life that are more powerful than our understanding. We need to accept, and move on. Every time I become interested in something Halloween, or some kind of prop, I can feel my lost loved ones riding piggyback.
