the air seemed bitter cold the night that appolyonamon moved into the peace full town of the ravens nest, a tall manlike
sinnester creature he seemed to be, as he walked thrue town wearing a top hat and a long black cloak, for weeks it was as if even the tree's had echode his name as they swade in the midnight air. no one could get a good look at his face that cold blistering night, although everyone felt his pressence,,appolyonamon rang through the very soul
of the ravens nest as he glided off towards the howling hills and into
the lost caves,,the question on everyones mind was'nt just who was he,
but why was he here, and were had they heard his name before?

oh, the mental mind of man.

The air laid thick and heavy. The fog laid like a thick blanket upon the ground. The man like creature's steps seemed sure and swift.Did he know to where he was heading?
The nightowl gave his mournful hoot as the crunch of fall leaves gave way to the creature's steps.Sinister red eyes from the lurking forest peered.A dozen pair of florescent eyes of different types of night creatures also gazed at the unwanted visitor.Who was this stranger?!

Ralph was the kind of guy everyone in Raven's Point seemed to like. He was youngish, tall, athletically built and handsome in a harsh sort of way. He had long dirty blond hair that he wore in a pony tail, a habitual three day stubble of beard and multiple earrings in both ears. His clothes were both stylish and expensive, and his silk shirts were aways open to expose the costly gold chains he wore for show. He was quick with a joke and had an undestanding way about him that made him extremely popular with the women of Raven's Point, particularly the women who tended to frequent Vlad's Tavern. But even the men liked him because of the swagger he used that all of them admired.

To put it bluntly, Ralph was cool.

But he didn't feel particularly cool, rakish or swaggering standing in front of the cave entrance at the edge of the Raven's Point woods with his palms itchy and sweating at his sides. He didn't want to be there, since he knew there was no way he could charm his way out of this particular situation. But from the time he glimpsed Appolyonamn breezing through town like a malenvelant mist, he knew there was no way to avoid it.

He patted his shirt pocket one last time, swallowed hard and then took a step into the cave.

The entrance was as dark as a tomb, and Ralph took very small steps at first as he allowed his hard, cold eyes to adjust to it. But finally he saw a dim light at the cavern's far end. It flickered a little. Probably a candle, Ralph thought. Setting his jaw, he walked slowly toward it.

Appolyonamon was sitting at the back of the cave on a pile of rocks that looked amazingly like a hugh recliner chair. As Ralph had surmised, a long candle was burning beside him. He seemed to glare at Ralph through eyes that blazed red from beneath the tall hat he was wearing. The wrath-like figure said nothing as Ralph stopped before him. But his long, thin fingers were slowly drumming against a rock.

"Look, I know why you're here," Ralph said, checking his speech to make sure he wasn't sounding defiant. "And I don't much blame you for showing up here. I mean, things haven't been all that lucrative lately, but they are looking up."

Appolyonamon continued drumming his fingers, but he said nothing.

Ralph reached into his pocket and pulled out a thin piece of paper. He looked at it for a moment as if he weren't sure exactly what he was going to do with it. Then, gulping hard, he reached out and handed it to the apparition in front of him.

"This should take care of the last six months," Ralph said. "And don't worry about it, the paper is good."

Appolyonamon took the check from Ralph and slowly drew it in front of his eyes.

"It's all there," Ralph said. "I swear to God, every freaking dime of it."

Appolyonamon lowered the check and stared into Ralph's eyes.

Ralph stared back before speaking. "So tell Sylvia that we're square, okay?" he finally said. "Tell her that I'll be on time from now on with both the alimony and the child support. So there's no need for you to come back."

Appolyonamon folded the check in half and stuffed it into a pocket inside his coat. His eyes flashed a warning of what would happen if Ralph were lying. Ralph only nodded. But it was enough to let the wrath know that he fully understood.

Ralph's nerves were beginning to fail him. He turned abruptly and hurried out of the cave. He wanted to run, but he thought it best to keep the appearance of not having lost his cool. Even so, it seemed to take forever to finally reach the cave mouth and emerge into the dark woods.

Once he was outside, Ralph issued a long, hissing sigh. He thought about all the money he'd just given away, and he distantly wondered where he was ever going to get more. He decided that it didn't matter.

"Of all the women in the world," he said, looking back and shaking his head. "God I hate my in-laws."

Continuing to shake his head, Ralph walked into the woods in the direction of town, hoping that someone in Vlad's might spring for a drink.

apollyonamon sat on his crown tapping his long fingers on his stone cold arm rest, his eye's
glazed red as if they were the very pits of hell, deep in concemplation he took off his top hat
and reached inside it, a note book black from age apeared in his hand setting his top hat down on the arm rest he thumbed thrue the pages of names until he came to ralphs,,,,
apollyonamon closed his eyes just for a brief second mind you, and when he opend them again a check mark was by ralph's name, nodding his head and stroking his black beard he reached over to his top hat placed the black book back in it and put the hat back on top of his long black hair. apollyonamon knew that ralph was aware, question was were the others,,,,
as the two black candles burned on etheir side of him in his dark dismole cave night was slipping into day in this domain, and for apollyonamon every second counted on his very exsistance in this world, yet pasiontally he waited, there wasn't much more he could do until all his belongings arrived,,looking down he gazed into the old wooden dinning table that stretched out in front of him and smiled at the twisted wood which appeared to resemble a thousand souls
ingulfed in etheir intence pleasure, or horrephying pain,,,how many years had passed since his last visit to ravens point, two hundred?, five hundred,,, time was always his worse enemy.
and yet still apollyonamon waited not only for the one that brought his pressence here, he waited for the mere joy of man and all thoughs names in his little black book.
