As we turned out the bedroom light
Came a young child's cry, something wasn't "right".
My small son's room was right through the door
A wall of bricks separated us, nothing more.
I stood in the opened door squinting to see more,
Shadows danced from leaves on vines
Might play tricks on any of our minds
Such was the show all over the far wall
bracketing my baby who had just made that call
"What's wrong Andrew?" My weary lips did say,
"Why did you , Big-boy, cry out that way?"
He pointed with that small finger
To the far corner of that room
To the unseen space behind me
My thoughts began a steady Zoom
My skin found a brand new layer beneath the other
My heart was pounding code to my unborn twin brother
Hollowness from true fear racked me
My demeanor couldn't crack, you see,
I Am the Daddy I must be stronger, last longer
Outlast this problem
Concerning any kind of bedroom goblin
Simplicity ruled that night , as Jim swallowed his fright
without turning toward that corner said, "Go back to sleep, Andrew.'
Not turning to see, not rotating to take a look
The lady in white would have to wait
To receive a mention in my book
And what precisely did my baby son see?
"She's in the corner, a Lady in a white dress, looking at me!"
I may state in front of a bunch of guys I'm not chicken, Andrew's statement
Just took me by surprise!
But only here the truth shall be shared, Daddy -Jim
Was scared!
MY feeble brain found seasolution from fictional substitution
It was my great grandmother's ghost, sure!
since she had owned this place
I'm sure thank full we didn't come face to face!
