Official Vampire Diaries Thread

Since the only thread on here was posted back in 2009 and was pretty much for the casting figured I'd start a new one where anyone is a fan can discuss the show. I remember I was REALLY skeptical about this show when I first saw the previews because I thought it would be lame. I can now say it is one of my favorite shows that is on TV at the moment. So are there any other fans of the show ? How did you like season 1 ?

I LOVE Vampire Diaries!! I was skeptical because I'm not their target age group (I'm 40) and sometimes shows made for the "young adult" group turn out very lame. I was happily surprised at how good it was. My daughter (16) doesn't really watch TV, but she never misses it (we start at 8:20 on the dot - so we can fast forward the dvr through the commercials). I hope they keep the writing at the quality it's at now, because that is its best point. Plus Damon is such a babe! ;-)

I loved season 1 and can't wait for the release of it on dvd August 31st! I'm pretty excited about werewolves coming into play this upcoming season as well! Damon is the man haha

I like it because they don't get too silly with it. It's so easy for a show like that to become cartoonish....so far, so good!

I love it too! Damon is SO hot! I read the books when the show went off for the summer and thought they were horrible and I am glad the show is not following them very much. Damon seems to be the only character that is the same on the show and in the books so the actor really nailed him.

I read the books as well and thought they were pretty good (I've only read the first 4, not the new ones that have come out) but I'm glad they have changed things like you said.

Damon really is hot. There's no two ways about it. hah hah.

I like that show a lot but I have to DVR it and watch it when I can because I'm kind of embarrassed about it. hah hah. Sorry.
