Hmm... I think I'll fall firmly in the camp which wouldn't see a point in remaking LTROI, but I will probably see this nevertheless. I don't know how I feel about the trailer, but as much as I did enjoy (parts) of Cloverfield, I cringed when I saw they are by the same director.

I love the original one, but I will be open for watching this movie cause I always compare originals with the remakes. The trailer does look thrilling however and I've noticed a lot of scenes from the original one. Maybe they just spiced it up a bit probably with more scares w. lots of sound effects. People tend to get hyped up with the actual gore rather than character developments, but I could be wrong. The remake should follow along with the story of the film, the gore will be there but everyone always seems to want more gore. I honestly hope the director doesn't get too hyped up on trying to make it gory, it should remain focus on the main characters. Guess I'll just have to wait until this movie comes out, for those who are interested with the story there's a book out. It's worth reading!

I dont really know how I feel about this. What really iritates me is that they have to change the title to Let Me In. It sounds lie its the worng message that the original had.
Can you stake my heart?

I've seen "Let The Right One In" last year, and now I am looking forward to seeing this one soon.

There is a review over at Bloody Disgusting that suggests the remake is better than the original. I will note that there are spoilers so if you want to avoid those avoid checking out the review.

I saw it last weekend and it was actually pretty good. It did stay focused on the relationship, and wasn't overly gory. They don't make any reference to Abby/Eli's "trouble" in the past, but despite that exclusion, the rest of the story is pretty much intact.
I wouldn't day its better than LTROI, but its still a pretty good movie on its own. If they had kept the bit about Abby/Eli's past, I think it would have been a perfect remake, however since its excluded its like a 98% good remake.

I've seen a few comments on IMDB suggesting it's better. I've yet to see it.

A few people who saw said it was really good. I know some of the people who run the site Dreadcentral.com and they gave it a positive review. I'm not going to watch it until I finish the book.
