What is the one Horror film you DO NOT want to see a remake of?
For me it's got to be "The Shinning". I know they did a televistion series for this and it was cool but as long as it's not in theaters.

Yea the patteren is all the good movies are being remade and that sucks. Nightmare on Elm Street looks hopfull so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that one.
No one can play crazy killer man better than Jack Nicholson in the Shinning. That is just one big mistake.halloween is a super cool holiday.

I’ll never get all the hullabaloo people make about remakes. I just don’t see why people get all bent out of shape about it. It’s not like they are replacing the original film with the remake, you can still watch the one you love.
In fact I think good things can come from them. Would we have gotten My Bloody Valentine restored with all the footage the MPAA forced them to cut out without the remake? I doubt it.
Would we have gotten A new two disc special edition of The Day The Earth Stood Still on DVD AND Blu-Ray without the remake. Highly unlikely.
I doubt horror fans would have gotten Friday The 13th Part 3 in 3-D on Blu-Ray without the remake.
When the Night Of The Demons remake comes out, we will most likely get a special edition of that film, which as of now is OOP and commands high prices.
When the new Nightmare On Elm Street flick hit’s the screen we will be getting the original on Blu-ray.
Not sure if anyone has noticed, it’s not like studios are pumping out special edition DVDs and Blu-Rays of catalogue titles without remakes.
I doubt we will seen a Blu-Ray or special edition DVD of something like The Funhouse unless it gets a remake. You'll have money and all that money can buy.

To put it simply the tv series for me was diffrent and it was what I expected it to be. Jack's preformence in the shinning movie is one of a kind. To me it's kind of like a Wizard of Oz thing. It's a master piece and should not be messed with. If you followed the tv series you'll get what I'm saying.halloween is a super cool holiday.

The more remakes the better IMHO. The more horror the better and every once in awhile a good remake comes along which makes it worth it for me. Sure you have to weed your way through the bad ones, but that goes with any movie not just remakes. If it were not for remakes we would never have enjoyed these fine films:
The Thing
The Ring
The Hills Have Eyes
Dawn of the Dead
The Fly
The Blob
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Last House on the Left
Cape Fear
On another note the rumor mill is flying again about a Jaws remake.2011 Ultimate Spider, click below

I just don't see how the made for TV mini-series is any different than a remake now besides you saying it is. What is the difference? It’s just a different adaptation of a literary work.
If we didn't have remakes we would be stuck with the 1910 adaptation of the Wizard Of Oz and not the one that is considered a "masterpiece."You'll have money and all that money can buy.

Here's hoping for a new remake of the Island Of Lost Souls so I can get it on DVD sometime soon.

Some remakes are good, that I can't deny, but what I hate is why is it so hard to make NEW GOOD horror. Being a child of the 80s, everything was fresh and new and so original. This included any medium, music, tv and especially movies. I just started to buy Fangora and Rue Morgue magazins recently and reading some articles want to make me cry. I amazed how directors and writers are so scard of trying new things today. I blame how society manage to killed today's imagination of what is now my would-be future generations became so lazy that just rehash old good horrors and make horrible remakes. I remember teaching teens and kids, even adults and it made me so depress to see how people today have little imaginations or original ideals. God, I need to write some scripts up like my wife keep telling me to do...
