I saw the movie on Monday night with my girlfriend. It was awesome. It really captured the mood of the victorian world. 1890's in the moors of Scotland. The mists and fog. The superstition of the age. the movie seemed to pull from two movies: the original Wolfman with Lon Chaney JR and the old Hammer clasic the Curse of the Werewolf. There are ellements of both plots in the new reliece. I felt Del Toro really channeled Chaney at times. Del Toro seemed a bit out of place at other times. Anthony Hopkins was magnificent. I loved the film. There were some plot problems. I liked that they keeped the original feel and used the old make up skyle and some CGI. The CGI for once did not over power the story or the actors. I recommend you all see it.
Eventhough I am Dead it is always warm inside my bed.

Lurks and I went to see the Wolfman on opening day, part of his valentines gift to me.

I enjoyed the film, not what I expected at all but it was still fun to watch.
I really liked the make up and effects in the film, and the little references to An American Werewolf in London were a clever add in.
But after seeing some reviews, apparently not everyone was impressed.
Here's the rest of the review:One problem is that The Wolfman wants to be too many different things at once but can’t successfully juggle them all: psychological thriller, Gothic romance, blood-spurting slasher flick, Oedipal drama, mental institution expose, skeezy rapist-in-the-woods allegory -- you name it, if anyone ever associated with the film’s troubled development ever had an idea to cram in, it’s there. Also problematic are the wildly inconsistent special effects, which range from campy practical prosthetics (think Ron Perlman in 1987’s Beauty and the Beast TV show, only less realistic) to silly looking CGI action scenes.

I guess some people just expect way too much and will read far too deeply into movies....somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

We saw The Wolfman this afternoon. Very glad we finally got the chance to see it.
Atmospheric, excellent score (courtesy of Danny Elfman ......you can hear shades of Coppola's Dracula in it) and as usual, badass effects by the Master, Rick Baker.
Good acting, tho I thought Del Toro was a bit wooden. Hugo Weaving delivers some dryly humorous lines as Insp. Abberline, but perhaps it's unintentional and just my perception. If the location looks familiar, as it did to me, you've probably seen it in other movies. Iver Heath in Buckinghamshire is right next door to Pinewood Studios. The Victorian London scenes are wonderful too.
This is one we'll definitely get for the home collection. 8/10!

This movie was awesome! there was only one CGI scene I felt made you go "Oh that was CGI" it was the on fire scene during the fight. There tried not to give a direct spoiler. I will be greatly anticipating the release on DVD!
I would love to have you for dinner
