Both a quote from the movie and a correction
That's a pretty sweet list.

here some reviews I typed in 2009 during summer.
- Dead Meat : Just finished Dead meat, not bad, I give it a 7 out if 10. My first Irish horror movie. The buget was low, but they did a good job for what they had. The story was simple, a group trying to survive the zombie (actually, it;s a mutated form of the Mad Cow virus) infection in the rural farm land. Acting was subpar, but again, I see it for what it is. An Irish zombie movie. I am sure they ask friends and people from the villages around to participate in the filming of it for free. Most zombies\infected seem people who got dried oatmeal stuck to their faces. The gore is there,, lots of dicapitations, but again, very cheap.
I must point out, I paid most of the movies yesterday 5$ to 3$ each. I don't think it would be a movie I would rewatch but will add it to my horror movie collection.
PS: someone get's killed by a zombie cow... never saw that before..
- The changeling : Loved it even after all this years. Highy recommend it. 7/10 One of the best ghost story out there. Reminds me of Burnt Offerings. A great classic.
- Invasion of the body snatchers : same as above 7/10. I never get tired of seeing this movie.
- The cottage : Start as a british comedy and finish as a slasher horror flick. Very slow start and many characters are useless. (The koreans mafia... why they were in this movie, I got no clue). I would cut the entire first halve of the movie easily. Still, when it finally get to the horror part, things do get good. The gore is great, as the effects and makeup. The budget was good for sure. The story is not bad, but soo slow.. Okay movie, not sure I would ever rewatch. 5/10
The Eye (American version): Piece of crap, like most remake. Even Jessica Alba's beauty can't save this boat from sinking. Even after the boat was sunk at the bottom of the sea, a submarine came by and torpidoed it 4 more times. Then came Godzilla and took a dump on it and cleaned his ass with it, then the earth opened and swallowed it up, never to be seen again.
That's how I saw this movie.
The sad part, this is my second copie, because my first was not working, so, I had to change it. Maybe I should have keep the first copie, see it as a hint.
Also, I need to explain also my wife works in the medical field, so, when she watches movies, She get pissed when like most movie, things many time are not "fact based or checked", meaning, she see right away huge errors and **** ups that in real life, would never happen.
The eye has a huge plot **** up that only someone like her would notice. The mexican girl that gave her eyes for science, well, when someone hang themselve in real life, all blood vessels burst in the eye balls, making the eyes turn blood red, also damaging serverly the cornious nerve. OH OH.. How could Jessica get her eyes then... Oh Oh.. Plot **** up alert!
Also, how could a mexican girl, that live in mexico, killed herself, be a donor in the USA (Maybe she lived in New Mexico.. no, can't be, they were crossing the borders at the end... what the ****..).
Anyway, I sure, also, that she was thinking just before she killed herslf "Before I kill myself, I should fill out my donor card just in case some bimbo in the US might need my eyes in the future to save some american tourists stuck in a traffic jam, cause by a car that somehow misses all 50 other cars in front of that gas tanker truck that will make it super explode..or something... MMm.. and.. It's not like my eyes didn't give me horrible visions of people dying and death shrouds around when my own mexican people were burning to death in that Taco Bell when Lopez had a huge fart beside the huge stove that was cooking all the tacos... ... LOL..".
(as you can see, the mexican angle, didn't really fly with me.. ). I give it a 2/10
I think I'll go watch the real Korean version, wich is WAY BETTER!!
-Saw 5 : I will confess, I do like the saw movies. One day, I want to watched all of them at once. This one is the weakess of the serie. Only recommend if you are a Saw fan. As a stand alone, it sucks. I give it a 6\10.
-the Abandoned : I saw this one a few weeks ago on Fear.net. and I loved it. I was happy to see it in the used movies bin. I loved this Russian horror movie. THIS IS WHAT GHOSTS SHOULD BE. very creepy.I give it an 8/10.
Nightmare Detective : A cool jap horror, was very surprise about the originality of it. It reminded me of the dream warriors in Nightmare in Elm street part 5...part 4? (not sure, but the one they fight in dreams). Very cool. Was expecting disapointment with this one, but was not.I give it a 7.5/10.
the Mummy 3 : not sure I can consider this one an horror. Always been a fan of Brendan Fraser and Jet Li, so, this was a fun flick. More action than horror. Was good for what it is. Didn`t like the actress they took for the wife. The son also kinda suck too. Give it a 6.5/10.
It's Alive. : Yes, it's that 1973 horror about a retarded mutated baby. I pity the actors, being killed by a baby.. such a way to die. I saw it when I was very young, so, I could not remember much. Maybe it was for the best I didn't. It didn't age well. Sadly, I have also bought part 2 and 3. I give it a a solid 2/10.
Strangeland : watched it on Fear.net. Was pretty good, surprised I had never saw it before. Not a big fan of peircing, it was freaky. I give it a 7.5/10.
The last house on the left. (the original) : I had never seen it and was hyped a lot for me. Dissapointed with it. Was expecting more. I am curious to see the remake. 3/10.
The messengers : I rewatched this one alone this week and I do like this one. Bit dissapointed with the story. Just to learn who is the ghosts and why they haunted the place, was somewhat lacking in someway. Would rewrite the story to put more reasons why they are there for. 7/10
Catacombs : Woman stuck in Paris`s underground catacombs. Loved this one!! The ending was somehow surprising and clever. Rewatch value is not much sadly. I highly recommend this one.8/10
The haunting of Molly Retard : Ok, it's not Retard, but I forgot the name. Only could watch 25 minute of it due my wife start sleeping because of it, and my brain could not handle the stupidity of this crappy movie. In this 25 minute, I counted around 134 cheap scares BAD cheap scare even at that. In the first few minutes in the intro. Crows!! AHHH! Scary... Boy friend AHHHH!!! Scary!!!!! Father!! AHHH!! Scary!!! Kangaroo!!! AHHH!! Scary!!!!.. I rolled my eyes and start making bad LOL and OMG comments. Molly is so hard core! DAD! I HATE YOU!! "texting .. Dd, fk, i hATe My lif! LOL!". Such angs!!! ARRRR!!!!!! OMG!! SCary music because grl is christian! ARG!! Scary music!! About the Boyfriend, I was expecting him to break out any second in a High School Musical song montage.. I will finish watching it one day... I promise.. 2/10 ( for now, might go even more down after fully watching it).
Trying to get my faith back in horror movies, I am rewatching "the orphanage" by Dell Toro. Damn good horror movie!!
