YES! a new Elmstreet movie is going to be out April 30th.It doesnt have Englund in it though. Freddy is going to be played by Jacki Haley,(Rorrschack)..the little dude from watchmen.The clip looks pretty good,Freddy is just plain mad,no jokes or silly puns,just vengence.They also changed the story line.It appears as though Freddy might be innocent in the new movie.Google freddy krueger,lookfor the link and tell me what you think.

When they remade Friday The 13th I was like oh crap. But then I saw it and was actully into it. I hope this nightmare movie is not a nightmare. Previews looked sweet when I went to Zombie Land. The sick dude from A Haunting In Connecticute is in it. He's scary

Jackie Earle Haley is playing Freddy he's only 5ft 5" so he's going to be a little shorter than Robert was. I saw the trailer and also thought his voice wasn't quite right though, I prefer Robert Englunds version, he sounds far more menacing .

Robert Englunds will be and always be the only Freddy. I saw the trailer too and like most remakes, suck! Suck and more sucking! (in my opinion..). Why can't hollywood do original movies instead of creating crappy remakes! I do miss the 80s so much.. everything was fresh and new... pastel colors and romantic songs... the good old days... I think I will cry seeing the remake of Evil dead without Bruce Campbell... I wonder which actor they will take? Probelly someone that's Sparkles!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! (end rant)

I agree, I haven't seen a really good horror movie for ages. I love 80's horror, it was part of my childhood. I used visiting the horror section of our local video store and looking at the video box artwork.

I'm just happy they're including an update on some CLASSIC scenes (The Knife-Glove coming up through the water when Nancy is taking a Bath). I am sort of pleased with the make-up for freddy in this film -looks like a real burn victim- but we all know that Mr. Englund CAN NOT be replaced. I Recently re-watched the entire franchise, and realized how Freddy's make-up becomes more terrible and poor quality after the Third Film, And the comedy becomes to cheesy after the Third film. However, I plan to see this Remake, even though Friday the 13th (2009) and Halloween (2007) both honestly let me down.

I was disappointed with the Friday the 13th and Halloween remake too, hopefully this one will do the original more justice.

NO ONE but Robert England is Freddy Kruger. I will boycot this movie because unlike jason Voorhees, Freddy has a personality. England is Freddy. It is like anyone but Shatner trying to be Cap't Kirk. One one but the original can do it because the personality of the actor is the cheractor. Kruger is England. England is Kruger.

You're right he's an icon, people will always associate Englund with Freddy. I was hoping he'd have been chosen for the remake.
