Thumbs down Paranormal Activity was boring

Am I crazy or what? I just did not think this flick was good at all. The actors were not believable and there was nothing really scary, I've seen better on TV in old Hitchcock shows. Low budget and it shows, no where near the league of Night Of The Living Dead. Looks like they got everyone hooked with a commercial and a viral campaign. I just hope it doesn't open the flood gates for other cheapo horror film knockoffs. There's enough of that on UTube already.

My buddy told me it was a horror flick and I wasted a good movie pass!

I was thinking that the hype might not be true.

I think it's quite ironic that they it opened up right before Halloween. Somehow I think that was fixed with the campaign to get so many people.

No, you are NOT crazy. I went with my daughter and a friend this evening, trying to salvage a small bit of Halloween out of an other wise s****y weekend, and I was very dissapointed. Not at all scary and just downright annoying with all the shaky camera work. ARGGGGHHHH!!!!

I didn't find it scary, nor did my sons. I found the Changeling to be a much scarier movie. Paranormal activity didn't bore me, I thought it was pretty well made and enjoyed watching it.

You all are certainly entitled to your opinions, but I strongly disagree. I thought Paranormal Activity was awesome. There were a few silly spots, but every movie has those (especially horror movies). Maybe it was because I'm not desensitized by going to see every Saw-type movie that comes out. To me, it was as good as any classic suspense film. It proved you don't need to spend a ton of money or show absurdly violent or gratuitous gore to be scary. If anything, I hope it inspires movie makers to be more creative and not rely on cheesy fallbacks to scare or shock people. I'll definitely be buying it when it comes out on dvd & showing it at next year's party.

Default Not Scary, Thumbs Down

It was like watching a TV show but not near as good as the Outer Limits or Twilight zone. They could have researched a little Hitchcock if they really wanted it to be good, at least he knew how to get into your head.

I don't really like the slasher type movies either, the real good movies are the ones that play with your mind, this one didn't do anything for me.

Paranormal Activity is the best film of it's type that I have seen thus far, but that doesn't make it that good really.

Out of those who loved/hated this, did you like "The Blair Witch Project?" Truthfully, I have always had a fear of getting lost in the woods, so that scared me to death, but I typically don't like the shaky cam, Cloverfield, what this looks like type. Wondering what I might think of this...
