Default Scariest movie when you were a kid

Just curious. What was the monster movie that scared you most as a kid? (Psycho doesn't count.) I remember being terrified of "Them" about giant ants. I used to stay up late and watch the mummy movies on B&W tv until I couldn't sleep. Being the old kid I am, I also remember listening to "The Inner Sanctum" on the radio at night. Squeeky doors still give me the shivers.

It's not a monster movie but the movie that takes the forefront in my mind is the Exorcist. Especially because while watching it with my Mom (who was also terrified), she made me get up during a commercial (because she wouldn't go near the tv!!) to turn the channel. I thought Regan was going to come out of that tv and get me for SURE!!! lol

Don't be Afraid of the Dark...I still to this day cannot watch that movie. Those little creatures freaked me out because they could hide anywhere.

The Thing from 1982... I damn near liked to have killed my bothers trying crawl out of the station wagon (drive in movie) when the head sprouted legs and started run across the floor... yeah... the good ol' days..

The movie that scarred me for live is the original Psycho. Most every woman from my generation is scared to take a shower! I still think I hear things when I shower. Awhile back my cat wormed her way into the bath, jumped on the loo and put a paw on the shower curtain. She hasn't dare come back since I let out a long terrified scream that brought the neighbors to my door!

That scene in "Carnival of Souls" where the dead guy whirls around in the chair... I saw that film on TV when I was about nine and it scared the bejeebers out of me!
