is in theaters nationwide now. I've been dying to see this movie. Hopefully I'll be going on Sunday. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Personally I am not as excited as everyone else to see this movie especially in a movie theater and thats a sad affair. I am fed up wasting my money to see something on the big screen when the theater is full of complete clowns

(yes clowns is one of my favorite words because it best describes todays current events
ruining the experience. Last movie I saw in the theater was Night at the Museum and that will be the last
. It also does not hurt to have a top notch home theater so I am not missing much.
.
As far as Paranormal goes I hope this does not turn out to be another Blair Witch piece of crap but hopefully more in the lines of REC which would be a good thing.2011 Ultimate Spider, click below

I actually liked Blair Witch Project and I enjoyed REC. So if it turns out to be like either I'll be happy. We are definitely going Sunday. So I'll check back with my review. I can't even remember the last movie I saw in theaters....I think it was Transformers 2. We have an awesome home theater as well but this is one movie I don't want to wait for to come out on dvd. Plus hubby and I haven't seen a movie alone (he and our daughter usually hit the movies together) so there's pluses all the way across for me. Not so much for him only because he usually doesn't like movies like this but he doing it just for me.

I saw this and I have to say the movie is slow but effective. It may just be the scariest movie I've ever seen. Not necessarily because of the theater experience but because of the aftermath and how it has stuck with me. I could not sleep last night, seriously I had to miss school because I did not fall asleep until an hour and a half before I was suppose to wake up. It was scary enough that I want to tell my friends NOT to see it because I don't want to be responsible for their sleepless nights.
ETA: I just wanted to add that Im not scared easily by movies, I can watch any scary movie and yeah I'll jump when stuff pops out but a movie has never stuck with me or hindered my sleeping.-Stephanie

It didn't have that affect on me. I was totally engrossed in the movie up until she was drug out of bed. It was poorly done and I wound up laughing instead. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to have to leave the theater. Once something like that happens, to kind of suck me out of the movie, it's all over for me. The last minute or 2 was really good. Didn't you find the boyfriends ignorance and stupidity kind of annoying? He's egging it on, calling it names, saying he can handle it, making fun of the psychic...it was all too much for me. Then of all things he comes home with the ouija board. I know stupidity has no limitations but come on. The footprints would have been more than enough for me, nevermind finding her picture from the fire in the attic. I would have run as far away from her as possible. lol

I thought the dragging out of bed looked good, but Im not really picky about or even notice effects much.
Yeah there were a couple of things I thought were questionable. Like how they didn't sage the house when things first started. I thought the guy making fun of was a little annoying but I understood it because he did it while just like house things were happening and nothing big and once big stuff started going on he took it more seriously.
I think it was just demon/ghost thing and the unseen that got me. Like Jason, Freddy, murderers, scary little girls, visible monsters don't phase me but man this movie did me in.-Stephanie

I just didn't get how she was begging him to not provoke it and he shrugged her off basically. She's terrified out of her mind and he was just like la la la let's play with a ouija board. He's telling her and the psychic well I wanted to see what it wants and just give it to it(the demon). It wanted her! The psychic told him that. I've had a really bad experience with a ouija board and I will never touch one again. When he said he wanted to do that I told hubby it's all over for them. The noises would have sent me scrambling...the footprints would sent me out the window, down the street and never returning to that house again (or her).....lol"Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says,"Oh Crap, She's up!"

Saw it last weekend. I, too, thought it was one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. The atmosphere & slow build to the big ending were great. Definitely getting it on dvd to play at next year's Halloween party.
Also, I, too, was stuck in a theater with a bunch of clown kids, who apparently all knew each other. I forgot that Friday was the first day of the movie's major release. I try to avoid movies on such days, as I know the theater will be filled with morons.

Our "moron" was funny though and I'm glad he waited until the end to pull his stunt. Otherwise I would have been really really upset. The girls screaming behind me were really annoying. I just wanted to hear the movie but instead I got blasted with mega screams in super sized doses...lol
