It has just been confirmed that Patrick Lussier will direct and Todd Farmer will write the screenplay for Halloween 3D. These two last worked together on the craptacular mess My Bloody Valentine 3D. Dimension hopes to rush this thing into theaters by next summer.

As bad as Zombie's Halloween II was, I am considerably underwhelmed by these choices for the third installment of the Myers reboot. And enough with this 3D bull already.....

My Bloody Valentine was no more a “craptacular” mess than H2 or the first one for that matter, in fact I think it is the lesser of three evils in this case.

I don’t mind the 3D craze at all, at least it’s bring fun back to the movies. There have been some great 3D films, House Of Wax, Creature From The Black Lagoon, It Came From Outer Space, The Mad Magician.

I predict that if Zombie is not evolved it will be less “craptacular” than either of the first ones by Zombie but make less money because they are late on the 3D craze and won’t have Zombies name to plaster all over it. I really don't think I can be any worse than H2.
You'll have money and all that money can buy.

what, does this mean we will not see Rob's wife riding around on a silly white horse?!? how sad!
    "winks"
yes as sad as it sounds that they not only rushing this film but putting it in 3-D to make an extra few $$$ i do agree with Mr Scratch , i do not think they could do a worse job. in fact even if it is crap i will gladly go see it just to know Mr zombie is not attached to this film

I liked the Halloween remake. I tried watching Halloween 2 remake and it was awful. i had to stop half way through. I will watch when it's on dvd just because I saw the first one. It's like I like the abuse or something but I have to see what happens and stick it out.

Amen to that brother! I actually enjoyed "my bloody valentine" and "final destination" in 3d. even if the movie sucks, at least you have the 3d effects to entertain you. is the halloween 3 remaking the original part 3? or something totally new i wonder?

Oh and i couldn't agree more about Halloween 2. I would have walked out if i hadn't been there with a friend. I wanted to go home and burn my rob zombie movies after seeing that abomination.

I'm apparently the only one here that like Rob Zombie. In fact, I LOVE him. <3
H2 wasn't supposed to be a remake! He totally took that movie in his own direction, and he said that in all of his interviews. I liked it.

I can't speak for all but I did know it wasn't a remake.

I know it wasn't a remake as such.. however if this were the first movie ever made about the character of michael myers, i still would not have liked it one bit. that said, i do like house of 1000 corpses, and loved the devils rejects.. i even thought the first halloween zombie did was ok... so really wasn't hating on zombie.. just a good place to vent for those of us who didn't care for h2. here's hoping halloween 3d will be the best yet!

    Fair enough, strangebrew.
Good to know you do like Zombie though! I too, LOVED the Devil's Rejects. It's my favorite.

Looks like cooler heads have prevailed - or the Weinsteins weren't thrilled with the script - and this pre-production has ended.

Weinstein Co’s Dimension Films Stops Pre-Production On ‘Halloween 3D’; ‘Halloween II’ Set For Holiday Re-Release – Deadline.com

Hopefully they will take their time and not rush a piece of garbage into theaters.
