So, since remakes have been a hot topic how about everybody's best and worst remakes.

    Best: The Thing.

For me it's John Carpenter's The Thing. It's his best film all around and by far the best remake for me. I enjoy The Thing From Another World but The Thing is a much better over all film.

    Worst: The Fog.

It’s a close call for me between The Fog and Halloween. Zombie gave Myers a much unneeded back story which kind of defeats the purpose of the character in the original film. He also put his trademark “white trash” spin on it, which I find dull and unimaginative. But The Fog is just an over all mess of a film, dumbed down to the point of no return. So The Fog barley edges out Halloween for the worst in my book.

Is Halloween 2 really a remake? It's not really a remake of the original Halloween 2, more like just a sequel to Zombie’s Halloween remake. What do you other guys think?

If your a big fan of the original My Bloody Valentine, I could see this. I definitely not as good as the original, which I think might be the best post-Halloween slasher, esp. with the edited footage cut back into film. That being said I thought it was ok as far as newer remakes go. It had the 3-D thing going for it in my book, seeing the mine shaft in 3-D really brought it to life, and it had Tom Atkins in it. I’m just a big Atkins fan, he was in so many classic 80’s horrors, so it was nice to see him in something again.

My favorite: Not even close, The Thing. Not only was it a fantastic remake it is one of my favorite horror films period.

Are we ready for another remake of The Thing..

My least favorite: When a Stranger Calls. Again not even close, this movie was a total joke.

Other favorites. Halloween (Reboot), The Fly, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Other least favorites: The Fog, Halloween 2 (Reboot), Another Missed Call

Not really, but it sucked so bad I included it.

The Fly is another very good remake. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was't bad either.

I thought When A Stranger Calls remake was better than the original for the most part. It expands on the only really interesting part of the original which is the first 15 mins. That’s not to say it’s a good film.

My other favorite remake is The House Of Wax (1953). Price is great in this, it is such a close call for me on whether I like House Of Wax or Mystery Of The Wax Museum better. Both are great horror films.

I would have to agree that both The Thing and The Fly were well done.

Worse would be Halloween. The remake of Psycho was a big drop off too.

I don't understand how some liked the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I thought it was horrible.
