How about Night Of The Creeps and The Gate? Both are coming to dvd this fall. You could check out some anthology films like...

    Creepshow
Tales From The Darkside: The Movie
    Tales From The Crypt
    Vault Of Horror

Maybe a good ghost story like...

    The Fog (1980)
    The Haunting (1963)
    The Legend Of Hell House

The Mothman Prophecies is a very creepy film.

You might also try the Classics from Hammer like The Baron said or from Universal.
You'll have money and all that money can buy.

when choosing movies to show. You're a very thoughtful sister. I KNOW I wouldn't have been so kind to MY younger brothers!

You could consider some humorous scary movies, like Killer Klown from Outer Space (which wasn't intended to be funny, but is so campy you can't help but laugh), or Scary Movie 3 (1 and 2 are R-rated). The Goonies and The Gremlins are scary/campy '80s flicks.

I used The Grudge and The Ring last year for 6th graders. Though they are both PG-13, they are extremely scary. The Japanese really know how to tell a good ghost story (both films are remakes of Japanese films).

Blood and Chocolate is a werewolf movie that is PG-13 and not too gross. It has good atmosphere. Another decent werewolf one is Van Helsing.

M.Night Shyamalan's movies, exept for the Happening (R rated), are all really cool, with surprise endings, more in the thriller category.

    Good luck with your party.

Its hard to say because kids/young adults may not appreciate older style movies, but if he can great. I would start with classic Hitchcock, Psycho of course and see if he can appreciate true genius.

    50-60's
    Psycho
Night of the Living Dead (68)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (56)
    Rosemary's Baby

    70-80's
    Jaws
    Dressed to Kill
    Alien
    Aliens
    Predator
    The Fog
    The Thing
    The Shining
    The Hitcher (86)

    90-2000's
    Misery
    The Mist
    SEVEN

IMHO if you are looking for thriller/suspense Horror with not much gore this list is extremely good.

I actually watched The Grudge last night and was quite surprised to see the PG-13 rating. Really spooky movie. Not that there was really much in there to bring up the rating but I'm honestly not sure how they rate films anymore. I was going to put the movie Stand by Me on for my daughter and her friend who are both 8 and was completely dumbfounded to see that the rating of that movie was R. (?!?!?)

To me the Grudge being a PG-13 and Stand by Me was R just doesn't make any sense...

The Changeling was mentioned earlier, super, SUPER creepy movie. Excellent!!
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

Thanks everybody! I have written some of these down (excluding Arachnaphobia of course! The scariest movie I have ever seen and the only one thus far to give me a terrifying panic attack, haha.)

Haha, my sister, brother and I were all raised very closely and were taught at home together from young ages; we were all best friends -- the other kids in town were a little outrageous to say the least!

M.Night Shyamalan is a great idea too! I've seen loads of his films, I never thought to show them to him. I will now though; I believe he's seen Sixth Sense but I think we have some of his other movies.

Mothman Prophecies is a really good one as well.

I don't think I'll show him the Grudge. He gets incredibly scared whenever somebody even mentions the word "ghost." Same with me and...spider. *Shudder.*

Thanks again everyone! I've written all these down for reviewing.
