A friend of mine is planning a Halloween haunted house with her cousin for Halloween weekend. I said to her "you don't even like scary movies, how in the world are you going to be part of a big Halloween party?' She replied that she loves haunted houses but doesn't like scary movies because they are stupid". (LOL) But yet she'll watch Ghost Hunters all the time. To me Ghost Hunters is set up. All the action is always off camera. They seem to try to make something out of nothing. I know sometimes they'll say that it's something logical but I think they do that as part of the show..to make it look like they're legit.

I just thought that was odd.

    It's kind of funny...

I don't like ALL scary movies. I tend to rip apart plot holes and get really annoyed with gratuitous violence and gore... unless the plot REALLY draws me in.

Maybe she just likes the flicks with the suspense and ghost story stuff, and doesn't like slasher/gore films. Better than nothing!

That's what I am thinking ...that's she's too afraid of them but wants to pretend something else.... I dunno this lady loved the new Scooby Doo movies of late so that shows how her tastes are LOL!

I agree that some of them are stupid but they are some great ones! (as we all know)!

I agree, all movies I have see that advertise as being scary are usually utter crap. There are a few movies that are just great themselves that scare me but I would not classify them as scary. You want some good scary things (in a sense) to read check out some of H.P. Lovecraft's writings.

You're right about the movies advertising as being scary usually being crap. I love H.P. Lovecraft I just wish the movie adaptations of his stories didn't suck so much! I think Re-Animator was the only one I liked.

I like Lovecraft okay but have never found him scary at all really.
