Hmmm........dunno about this one but.....

A lot of sites are picking up on this You Tube vid and questioning whether this is the beginning of a viral campaign for Cloverfield 2.

Right now I would have to side with those who say it's probably not related to a sequel to J.J. Abrams' hugely popular giant monster flick, but then again who knows?

In any event, let's keep each other updated as news unfolds.

I doubt it. The video seems fake and Abrams never said anything about a part 2 at Wondercon. Although he hinted towards something that may be related to Cloverfield.

"We have an idea that we thought was pretty cool that we’re playing with, which means there will be something that’s connected to Cloverfield, but I hope it happens sooner rather than later because the idea is pretty sweet."

I really don't care either way. I don't like J.J. Abrams, I don't like giant monster movies and I don't much care for Japanese cinema (or people who mimic it).

Hmmmm, i liked Cloverfield but that's me. with all the remake crap out there, this to me was a breath of fresh air...

Cloverfield was an interesting movie, but after watching it I felt disappointed. A second film is like saying "Let's make a Blair witch 2" (btw Blair witch 2 is bad)

I don't think this video is a viral thing for Cloverfield 2, it just doesn't seem right to me. Maybe it's just someone being hopeful that there will be a second and trying to get people talking about it.

mr frost--you are right about that definitely...at least it was an original idea. I am so hating remake hell as I call it, LoL! I am just not into the monster thing..and the shakey camera deal

Which leads me to my next criticism. The idea was indeed original but how will a sequel be any different? The gimmick has been used up already.

hey thats cool brother, not your thing. i think it brought it back to my childhood from all those Godzilla movies when i was like 10 lol! the shakey camera scenes can be a little much. those nasty spider things freaked me out! ;-)

a true sequel would be cool! not an another camera angle deal. i remember the back story about how Clover was only a baby, and there might be a mommy or daddy out there..

but Mr Forst, doesn't that idea for a sequel, kinda make it like the whole Godzilla movie in NYC with MAtthew Broderick?...

You know I am thinking you just can't win anymore, LOL-- HAs everything been done..Somehow I don't think so.. Out there in Hollywood (or anywhere) that has to be a screenwriter with an original idea..Or maybe I am just living in the past..*Sigh*
