I also thought it was ok. I think it was over rated. I thought they could have made this movie alot better if they tried. But I did like Sam.

It's not for rent at Red Box because they are in a bit of a dispute with Warner Brothers right now and Netflix. There was a news story some weeks ago, but I don't remember exactly what it said. I can tell you why it took so long for this movie to come out WB has been busy with their heads up their behinds messing up the Lost Boys sequel, the last Harry Potter movie, and the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz. I'm hoping they didn't ruin Where the Wild Things Are as well. I'm convinced Trick R Treat is only seeing the light of day because WB is jumping on the True Blood bandwagon. SO not happy with WB right now. Does it show?

Trick r treat is my new favorite halloween movie!
who cares why WB decided to release it, I'm just glad they did! It's not so gorey that you have to be afraid but yet spooky enough to be perfect for halloween! I think it has the very essence of halloween in it down deep the core, without it having to rely on the gore to scare the audience. I was impressed with how the stories all tie together. Sam is truly evil, and I love it! I'm so sick of all the SAW movies I could scream. I'm so glad I have something better to watch this year... in addition to all my other fave's.... I got it on BluRay the day it came out. I had asked my local BestBuy to get some copies in, and they obliged and even held one for me!! It truly will become a classic!!How many days do I have left?

I just watched this movie this weekend. Overall I can't say it was a totally unenjoyable movie, it was ok. I did like how all the stories wove in together, that was interesting.
I just don't know how to describe it. It was an ok movie but I just didn't feel satisfied at the end...
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

As we said on Hauntcast, wonderful film - haven't seen anything negative about it (besides here which is really odd.........).
Hoping the success on DVD allows Dougherty to do the every or every other year anthology sequels he envisions.

Just watched it last weekend.
The stories were actually somewhat entertaining kind of campfire stories, not entirely unfamiliar, you felt you had heard them before, knew the ending, yet could not help but hearing again. But then it seemed to be adding unneeded language and/or nudity for the sole purpose of making it R rated. I think it would have been better had they chosen to aim for a PG13 rating. Would not have impacted any of the action, most likely (I doubt any gore would have even needed to be removed), and would have opened it to a much wider audience. My kids would likely have enjoyed it, and it would have made a wonderful family oriented Halloween movie. As it is, however, they cannot view it, and it is lacking when compared to more adult horror films.
