I had to purchase mine at Best Buy. I believe my local Newbury Comics has some copies too

I watched it tonight, and I loved it. It was a little to short, as I'm someone who likes a good hour and 45 mins to 2 hour movie, but it was still good. When it was over, I felt like it was missing something, like I didn't just watch a full film. I'm definatly going to have to watch it again this weekend, and piece it all together, then maybe it will feel a little more full.

Overall, its a must see film for any horror or Halloween fan. Its not to scary, so you don't have to be a hardcore horror fan to see it. Definatly a classic that is going to become a tradition every year.
When I went to pick up my copy at Best Buy there were only a few copies left and other people were looking at it when I was so I made sure to grab one before they were gone lol this is definitely a MUST have for any horror fan! I wish it was a little longer but I guess it's better than dragging itself out right ?

Just found it at WalMart. They just got theirs in today and put them out, but it's only a few copies, and not in the new movies display..

I found it at Best Buy in the new release section on dvd, bought it & loved it!! Although the Blue-Ray section seems to have taken over the main area.
It's a feast for the Halloween lover & haunter alike, unlimited eye candy. Was disappointed that there wasn't any extras, other then the short feature.

Found it a bit odd that no one seems to know why the film was shelved for 3 years, or why it wasn't released to theaters?? Another oddity is rottentomatos.com gave it a 100% with 10 positivie reviews!! It's also odd that it's not available to rent at Red Box.

Just got done watching this a half hour ago, and i liked it alot. This will definately get a few more watches this year and every year from now on. For a movie that almost wasn't, i am sure glad that it finally came out. I think it is a classic for sure, or soon will be. Was worth the wait, but they really messed up by not putting it in the theatres.

"TRICK 'R TREAT. Smell My Feet. Sign My DVDs for Me." - Director, Composer, Author Signing Event this Friday in LA!

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here with a quick announcement about a cool CD/DVD signing event this Friday in Burbank that should smack you in the face with Halloween spirit.

I just wrapped up a phone interview with Michael Dougherty, director of TRICK 'R TREAT (2009), and the film's composer, Douglas Pipes, who told me that they, along with Marc Andreyko (author of the graphic novel), will be at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, California, this Friday, October 9th, at 7PM to sign DVDs, soundtrack CDs, and books respectively.

I wasn't going to have the interview ready in time to get this news out there so I thought I'd drop a quick note announcing it.

I first saw TRICK 'R TREAT two years ago and have been aching to write about it ever since. It's a delicious Halloween film sporting an impeccably toned score by MONSTER HOUSE (2006) composer Douglas Pipes. I've got this interview I'll be posting in the upcoming weeks along with a full review of the score just in time for Halloween.

If you're in the Los Angeles area this Friday night, swing by Dark Delicacies with your TRICK 'R TREAT Blu-rays, DVDs, CDs, or graphic novels signed.

For more information check out the at Dark Delicacies website. Dark Delicacies

Judging by forum members revues thus far, It's even more of a mystery to me why it didn't get a cinema release..

Because Warner also releases the "Saw" movies, and even though it's the same stuff rehashed in each of those movies, the name sells big, and they didn't want to create competition against "Saw"...atleast from what I've been told.

In a interview in the newest issue of Rue Morgue, the director said even he doesn't really know why they never released it. At least we got it on DVD.

In a few years I'm sure this will start showing up at indie theaters around Halloween.
