What's up all you cool ghouls? JT here with news that there are (surprise!!!) discussions in the work about a sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween.
Again, we all had heard how the Weinsteins were insisting there were no plans for a sequel (and yet all the actors were apparently signed for three films). However, it appears that there are plans on doing a new film, but "everything is still at the absolute lowest level of talks."
Word is that offers have already gone out to directors to helm a sequel as Rob has gone on record as saying he is not interested in returning to Haddonfield.
So, if in fact it is inevitable that the sequel is coming, what do you all want to see? Do you want another 'reimagining' of the original Halloween 2? Do you want to go in some other direction? And most importantly, who would you think would do a good job on the sequel?

Well, let me start by saying that I liked the original 'Halloween' 1000% better than the remake. The women were lame and weak in Zombie's version. Laurie was whorish and deserved to die with the rest of them. The remake was ok, but I couldn't stand it by half way through and just wanted everyone to die. The only thing I liked about it was expanding the backstory of Michael. That being said, the original Halloween II wasn't that great. So, I suppose if a sequel to the Halloween remake was made, maybe he could improve on the original sequel. I think Sam Raimi would be a good director for it, but that'll never happen hahaha

Argggh, I hope this doesn't happen. As much as I wanted to see all the slashers come back on the big screen, I take it back. I detested the remake because it took away from the original one and was just way over-the-top. That said, I don't look forward to the sequel.
Of course, I'll go see it just for kicks. That's how I see remakes now...hell, I don't look at it as remakes...just as any other horror movie...makes me less infuriated

Yup, it's happening -
Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo will do the follow-up to Rob Zombie's Halloween.
Rue Morgue Magazine took this news one step further and spoke to the pair who confirm "it's a proposition we couldn't refuse." Maury explains they're reverent of Zombie's re-imagining of Michael Myers and they're out to put their stamp on the character not copy what came before them. "Therefore, our vision will be done with upmost respect, with a continuity of [Zombie's] work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place."

Has Rob Zombie ever made a movie where most of the characters aren't white trash?

STYD is reporting that Rob Zombie is returning to Haddonfield for Halloween 2 as writer and director. Word is a formal announcement will be made in the next day or two......
Interesting development, which, as the article notes, seems to leave Tyrannosaurus Rex in the dust.
