The Wolf Man/remake

Some news -

The official trailer will be attached to Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds on August 21, 2009.

Further, Unviersal - despite conjecture - does not seem unhappy with the film. Rather, they are claiming that the delay in the release has to do with "box office potential." Also, from a "marketing standpoint" the studio wanted to make sure all of the special effects were done so they could be included in the promos.

Are they being honest or is it all just spin?

I think that is just Universal's spin, otherwise why would they be reshooting and adding in a battle scene between the Wolf Man and a werewolf.

An earlier rumor was that Talbot's father - played by Hopkins - also gets bitten and turns into a werewolf. I was thinking that the studio decided to expand that action sequence and redo the father/son battle.

But again who knows.....

I just hope that they don't tinker so much with it that they ruin it. The old basic story was good enough to stand on its own. To much messing and it will become just another Werewolf Movie. That's not neccessarily a bad thing, but given the right treatment, it could become a modern-day classic.

I so agree Wolfman. I hope they don't make it into another Van Helsing type movie.

I think Del Toro can pull it off and hope he does. One can only hope it doesn't go the way of Van Helsing, I'd rather it be more Teen Wolf. Oye, I hope it's good....
