Yeah, the original "Howling" look was pretty cool, but I feel that if you're going to do a remake of a classic it should, out of respect bear some resemblance to the original, which in this case would mean keeping with the old school Wolfman look, rather than a more Lycanthropic appearance.

There's some bootleg trailers out there on this, courtesy of Comic Con in San Deigo last weekend. Doesn't give away anything, but you get a peek. Get 'em before they disappear.

I missed the trailer, oh, well...
I'd like to know what the soundtrack will be like. The original soundtrack was perfect for the tone of that movie. Just like the Bernard Herman soundtrack was perfect for Psycho.Wolfman

Universal yet again changed the release date for Joe Johnston's upcoming horror thriller "The Wolf Man." The film is now been delayed and is set to open Feb. 12, 2010.
"Wolf man" was last set to be released in the theaters Nov. 6, 2009, which was already the film's third release date, after a move from Feb. 13, 2009 to April 6.
They are planning to reshoot some of the film using UK's Pinewood Studios, stunt rigging and wire-work specialists, so obviously they must not have been too pleased with some of it and hopefully are improving it.
Now Universal said that they prefer to opening the film during the first quarter of 2010, citing a bigger potential to score at the box office. Right now, "Wolfman" will go up against the new movies "Valentine's Day" and "Remember Me."
I'm sooooooooo disappointed since I was really looking forward to Wolfman as a Halloween release.

Here is a little more information about the reshoot.
"As part of the reshoots, Armstrong reportedly came up with a great confrontation scene between the Wolfman and the Werewolf (there’s a difference?): “They really go after each other and it’s dramatic and exciting, whereas the stuff they shot first time round was limp.” - Star Benicio Del Toro flew back to the UK to do the reshoots, and Emily Blunt is currently busy with Gulliver’s Travels so she could only dedicate “three or four weekends.” Anthony Hopkins for an unknown reason was unable to fly back to the UK, so he did his additional filming in LA instead.
Universal has officially confirmed that additional scenes were shot. Here’s a comment from the actual studio themselves about it:
“The full articulation of the transformational lead character will be realized when the film is completed and we are excited to share his incredible look with the world in the upcoming trailer.”
Of course, that was never in the original Wolf Man movie, so it should be interesting to see.

Another release date? At this rate, their going to completely sink any interest fans may have in the movie.
I'm scratching my head too over this wolfman/werewolf thing. Obviously there's more than one character who's afflicted with the transformation. His father perhaps?

If you remember, In the original 1943 movie larry Talbot (Lon chaney Jr) began his hirsute shenanigans after being bitten by a werewolf. In that movie Talbots assailant was in the form of a dog/wolf which he beat to death with his silver headed cane.
I'm thinking the new movie may feature a showdown between Talbot and his attacker in a more Lycanthropic form.
