Obviously, I love this fricken movie. I'm sure you've all seen it, but if you haven't, SHAME ON YOU! No, but you should see it, like right now. Go rent it right now! It's soo good. I never knew how terrifying the use of color could be before seeing this gem. It still scares the crap out of me. The whole thing is actually on youtube in 12 parts if that does anything for ya.

I ADORE that movie! The colors, the design...oh, and the plot is pretty darn good too! You simply must see this movie if you never have before... wonderful movie!!

I have recently seen Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933, starring Fay Wray), the remake House of Wax (1953, starring the incredible Vincent Price).

I just saw the Halloween remake (not bad, but I went into it with no expectations) I'm currently watching Halloween (the original) and going to ask DH why we don't have Carrie in our movie collection... I'm on a 70s horror movie kick, and I really wanted to see that next.

I am really not impressed with the current tendency for gorefests like Hostel. I can appreciate gore in a really strong plot, but when the plot is just pretty much how to get from slash a to gouge b, it bores me.

My sentiments exactly. Hostel 2 was on last night. I couldn't watch all of it. Same with the first Hostel when it came out. I wonder sometimes about the people who come up with these scripts.

Give me old school horror and Grindhouse any day!

The Thing From Another World. More horror than science fiction, I think.

I agree, Frankie's Girl, about the gorefests. I need a story. Any, um, hack could write some of these chop-'em-ups.

And I bought Suspiria (I've never seen it), but I'm saving it for Halloween week. Something special for the season!
