I have a serious passion for Classic Horror flicks - so most of my viewing is of this nature...

    Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde - (1931)
    Son of Frankenstein
The Man Who Laughs <= go figure...

I just watched The Other, 1972.

If you've seen "The Good Son" with Macauley Culkin you'll definitely see where inspiration was drawn... except The Other is much more twisted and sick. I'll do a full review of it on my site when I finish my site this month (it's been back burnered) but I would highly recommend this film to anyone who likes stories about twisted kids (The Bad Seed, The Good Son, Omen etc)

2001 Maniacs - The Title sequence immediately lets us know what we're in for: bloodstains, sharp, fast music, knife sound effects, and horror legend Robert Englund is the first name we see.

It takes place over Spring Break. We see the 3 guys driving away, which we see as they are leaving the comfort and safety of home. "Pleasant Valley" is the ironically named place where these three characters along with another 5, end up. It is unusually friendly, and the very odd sign displayed reads "guts and Glory jubilee". So we know where the events will take place. It also has the population 2001 displayed.....direct title reference.

There are some inventive murders, and the film overall is watchable, though it's one that I think would be most fun watched towards the end of the night with a few friends over.

I watched The Reaping on Monday and Gothic yesterday. The Reaping was really good, Gothic was weird!

[*REC], it's a must see for anyone interested in horror movies!

here's the last 4 min of the film. It's in Spanish and the Youtube upload doesn't have the subtitles. But you get the idea anyway.
