Thread: A new Halloween-themed movie, and I'm in it!

There is a new movie in production right now called Halloween Night - Halloween Night-the Movie - by my friends at Cinegraphic Productions (aka Polonia Bros. Entertainment). By the way, I designed and developed the website.

Due to my experience with my own haunted house I'll be the credited set designer for the film, and I even get to play a "victim" of the killer (I think it's "Drunk Guy #1" or something). Many of my haunt props will be used in the movie.

For those that don't know the Polonia Brothers films, let's just say they've made some of the best worst films ever. They're legends in the independent, no-budget film world. And they live in my area, which is how I came to be recruited for this project.

This will be a super low budget, direct to video type thing, but it will be a lot of fun!

News about the production will be posted regularly on their site.

I think it's really cool that props I've made get to be in an actual movie about Halloween. I feel very lucky.

Ha! I don't know about the whole "star" thing, but thank you for the encouragement. You've apparently never seen a Polonia Bros. movie before. Their movies are not even on the same planet as Hollywood, but they are a lot of fun.

As a update, we filmed the main exterior scenes last weekend, which included some of my props and my decorating skills.

Unfortunately, the set I decorated is supposed to be a college Halloween party, and not a cool Haunted House, so I had to decorate it in a manor consistent with what college party animal types would do. So I basically broke out a few cheesy store bought things, mixed in some of my real props, and did the crappiest front porch web job ever. It was actually hard to throttle back and do an intentionally bad job.

I did manage to work in my shiatsu-motor driven groundbreaker zombie, so that's cool.

Big congrats and please keep us updated on the progress! Sometimes the indy, low budget films are so bad that they’re good. And, of course, some of the low budget films done on pure inspiration and drive have become classics (TCM, Halloween, etc.)

Also please keep us posted on your set design. Sounds very interesting as your skills are put to the test, having to scale back and all. Hopefully, you’ll get to do a scene where you can let your talent shine through like you want to. Are you able to share any pics or is that taboo in the film world before it’s actually released?

UPDATE:

HALLOWEENIGHT is now out on DVD

The movie, which features some of my haunt props, came out today on DVD. I also played a role in the film and I did all the artwork including the poster, dvd cover and website.
