I love horror comics from the 60's and 70's...past that time period, they seem to lose their luster for me...but titles like Ghosts and The Witching Hour from DC, and the many titles from Gold Key, like Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery, Grimm's Ghost Stories and others...all good stuff. Marvel Comics had some good titles too. It's all just a little bit cheesy from time to time, but these horror comics are good scary fun. Anyone here read these old things?

Funny you should bring this subject up. My son used to collect an old obscure comic called "Werewolf By Night". He has several dozen. This year, I was able to track down a few that he didn't have in his collection, a nice Christmas gift that links us to the past. He'll be 30 next birthday.
He also collected an old Gold Key title called "Turok - Son of Stone". I got two of those, but, boy, are THEY hard to come by.Wolfman

Yea, I have many re-prints of EC titles like
'Tales From the Crypt'
'Haunt of Fear'
'Vault of Horror'
My late Uncle use to have many of those originals before the house fire.
Lost it all. What a pity they coud'nt have been saved.
I think he even had the very 1st Superman comic as well in with his Horror collection.

Between 1972 and 1980, I bought almost every horror comic that appeared on the newsstand. Loved them. Especially Warren Publishing's Creepy and Eerie, which didn't have to follow the Comic Code. I doubt they would entertain me today, but that's not what matters. They did then.

Got bunches of the 70's horror comics. Some in good condition too, wonder if they are worth anything? Worth their weight in gold to us horror nuts, I know that!

I had a lot of comic books when I was a kid in the '60s including horror comics. I loved them. Unfortunately I didn't think about what they might be worth in years hence. They are all gone now. I know for a fact that I had some that, in good condition, would be worth quite a bit right now. <kicking myself

hi there; maybe someone here can help me with an old horror comic book memory. when I was a kid (i'm 39 now), i had this old black and white comic book that told the story of a reclusive guy who was obsessed with watching television. I think he had big eyeglasses and crazy hair.
The ironic twist at the end had him trapped inside the t.v. itself, forcing him to flee from various threats, including a godzilla-like monster.
If anyone here recalls this story, please chime in. I remember how much I loved the drawings; I think it was a little like Robert Crumb, or like the early EC comics style.
thx for any help! ^_^

Heh heh...guess what, BARRELBOY! I just bought an issue of Marvel Comics' "ARRGH!" which was basically a horror comedy title...it's issue #2, and this is one I used to have years ago and lost. (I am always looking on Ebay for things that I used to have but lost one way or another.)
Anyway, this issue features a story--in color--called "Gerald's World," which is about a guy with crazy hair and glasses who is obsessed with watching monster movies on TV. He gets sucked into the TV and is chased forever by various monsters. It sure sounds like the one you're talking about...
Here's the cover of that issue--there are a few of these on Ebay right now!

NEVER forget Classics Illustrated either...they did these GREAT versions of FRANKENSTEIN (blood coming out of Doc's wife when the monster kills her, the maid shown HUNG when she is nailed falsely for the crime..) DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE ( check out the beatings and the LOOK of Hyde as he looks into the frame and you KNOW he is up to no good...) VERY cool
