Fun stuff! I never read those Classics Illustrated books, but now I am looking them up. I like most any horror/mystery comics from the 60's and 70's because of their garish cheesiness (balanced with a touch of style). The really extreme ones have their charm too, of course!

I think the best series for my money were the HOUSE OF MYSTERY hosted by Cain and HOUSE OF SECRETS hosted by Abel...on DC...

Tor like ice cream. Yes, I have an issue or two of both "houses," they are great fun. There's also Unexpected, and Secrets of Haunted House...these would allow crossovers of the comics' hosts, who would bump into each other in various situations (once, I recall, while they were shopping at the local mall!).

The cool thing about horror comics, for me, is that I am always discovering a new one! So many were made...and so many of these are fun to read.

Hi, I collect high grade copies of the 70's horror comics. DC mostly, but I also love the Marvels! I zero in on the House of Mystery & House of Secrets. Neal Adams, Bernie Wrightson, & Mike Kaluta are my favorites, although there are many other great artists. Does anybody collect any of these?

DC released a collected volume of The Witching Hour last week and I recommended it on my blog and plan on doing so on the next Hauntcast.
